Continuation, as promised… :3

April 26 – Orange Honey ~Boku wa Kimi ni Koishiteru~ (http://www.orangehoney.jp/)

Ok, now this one’s I’m really really looking forward to~ Among the choices I made in what game to buy (other than Corda), I decided to choose Orange Honey because I found the story really interesting. It’s pretty much like watching a dramatic anime of some sort, and all the charcters are interesting too! The goodies included in the premium box also prompted me to want this game (and the seiyuus~~ *drool* :D~~) >o< It was originally a keitai-game (mobile game), and was made for PS2 due to its popularity :3

All of a sudden, everything went blank– and then I realized, that I couldn’t draw anymore…
(The ‘catchphrase’ of the story… it was enough to really catch my attention :p)

Story

Aiha Kase, the protagonist of the game, used to belong to the art club. But for some unknown reason, she found herself one day, unable to draw anymore. Because of this, she left the art club, making the excuse of joining the Student Council instead. As she spends time with the members of the Student Council, her classmates, and seniors she has known since before, she soon realizes the deep wound that these guys also carry with them.

Will she be able to heal their wounds?

And more importantly, will she herself recover from her own wound, and be able to draw once again?

(*swoon* I’m in love with these kinds of stories… hopeless romantic… >.>” But really… this makes for a great dramatic plot :3 And I’m sure the development of the story will have much depth, basing on this premise)

Characters

Shinya Shiraishi (CV: Takahiro Sakurai – the voice of Yuri(KKM), Shun (Gatekeepers), Cloud Strife (FF7), Oo no Suefumi (HaruToki Maihitoyo), etc~~ >o<) 2nd year student of Minamiaoyama　High, and the Student Council President (the same student council Aiha(the protagonist) works for). His grades are among the top-ranking students at the national level. His father is a famous parliamentary deputy, and is to succeed his father in the same field. Has a younger brother, Seiji, a not so friendly type of person – complete opposite of his brother. Hiroto Shibasaki (CV: Junichi Suwabe – Cain Nightlord (Trinity Blood), Seymour (FFX), Kyouya (Ouran Koukou Drama CD), Fuma (X)~ >o<) 　3rd year student of Minamiaoyama High, and the former Student Council president. Aiha’s best friend, and also the cousin of Nachi. He came from the same junior high school as Aiha and Nachi. Known for his accomodating personality, and is endeared even by his juniors. Akira Mizusawa (CV: Akira Ishida~~ >o< – Athrun (GSeed), Naoji (Meine Liebe), Hakkai (Saiyuuki), Hiwatari (DNAngel), Kaoru (Eva), etc~~ :D~~) 　2nd year student of Minamiaoyama High. President of the Wind Instruments Club, and the Head of the Cultural Club. He is Aiha’s classmate coordinate the School’s Cultural Festival. His piano skills is of professional level, and is in charge of the trumpet for the Wind Instruments Club. Gentle and well-mannered, yet doesn’t open up his feelings to anyone. He is best friends with Keita, who has has been classmate since 1st year high school. Keita Tsuji (CV: Masakazu Morita~~~ >o< – Hihara (Corda), Ichigo (Bleach), Kagara Shuuichi (Mizu no Senritsu), Teru (Tokimemo GS 2nd Kiss)~~ :3) 　2nd year student of Minamiaoyama High. Aiha’s classmate, and the Head of the Soccer Club and Athletics Club. He’s also the captain of the soccer club, with the position of FW (forward). His skill in soccer is published in magazines. He is best friends with Akira, who has has been classmate since 1st year high school. Seiji Shiraishi (CV: Jun Fukuyama~! >o< – Shimizu (Corda), Lelouch (Code Geass), Yayoi (Loveless)~~) 　1st year student of Minamiaoyama High. Shinya Shiraishi’s younger brother, and whose personality is not in any way like his brother. A smartmouthed person who addresses even his seniors on equal terms. He’s a mama’s boy / spoiled brat, yet is loveable and someone who you’ll find impossible to hate. Time and again, he drops by the Student Council office, and constantly cares for Aiha. Nachi Shibasaki (CV: Ai Maeda) 　2nd year student of Minamiaoyama High. Aiha’s childhood friend, and best friend. Joined the Student Council together with his cousin Hiroto during first year high school, and intends to go back to the track team when her term ends. Masato Shiraishi (CV: Kenji Hamada – Bou-san (Ghost Hunt), Tomomasa / Shirogane (HaruToki3 Izayoiki)~ >o<) 　Shinya and Kenji’s uncle (the younger brother of their father). He left his home when he was young, and became successful in his apparel business. At present, he has his own brand of clothing, the company in which he’s the Chief Executive of.

System

The game system features this “Crossover System”, as they call it. Through this, the player can trigger certain events of characters, with which they’ll be able to see things from the guy’s point of view. I think this is pretty neat, because this way, we could get to know the guys better

Another feature is this “Voicemail System”, which is triggered after a “character chapter” ends (where you will be able to call the guy, or the guy calls you – and looks like that sexy pic below *drool* :D~)

Lastly, there’s this “My keitai (My mobile phone)” feature, where you will be able to check the characters’ profile, and the progress that you have in unlocking the scenarios. With this, you’ll be able to check the level of intimacy that you have with the person

Premium Box

The premium box includes 3 special goodies: (1) The illustration of the package cover, in letter-sized format (and most likely in a special kind of paper :3), (2) An Original Drama CD, with mini-drama tracks with the wonderful seiyuu cast~ (3) 4 original post card set.

Aside from these, there’s also a special gift for those who pre-order, and it’s this Orange Honey Special Comic (I really really hope I can get to have this with my order from play-asia… coz it’s said to have limited stocks..) Now lucky people in Japan also get to have other additional stuff, depending on the store where you purchase it from. There’s this Original Message CD of the different characters (aside from the one included in the premium box), An illustrated short story, etc… Although I am not expecting that I will be getting any of these additional goodies, I am hoping and would be really really glad if I’ll be able to grab hold of them

Additional Thoughts

As I looked at the “pre-reviews” of the game at amazon JP, I’ve seen some not so good comments about it… particularly with regards to the personality of the protagonist, based on the original mobile game. They said that they didn’t quite like how the heroine is like a “manizer” who seems to attract all these [gorgeous] men, and could easily hold hands or be hugged by just about any one… o_O (My my, well isn’t she a lucky girl then? =P).

Another person mentioned that the protagonist seems to be a “everybody’s friend” type of person, someone who wants to please everyone… this “reviewer” also questioned the fact as to why all these men seem to be attracted to her, despite her having a weak personality…

I don’t want to judge the game based simply on these reviews. And I would might as well defend my view on this matter. The fact about the heroine being weak and all, well… it doesn’t quite bother me that much since this is a game, and that means you as the player actually have the choice to whether be a “manizer” or not right? (I’d admit that I’ve become a two-timing girl in some romance games… particularly in Corda… lol… so why would I be bothered by this then? :p)

And… to the question as to why all the guys are attracted to her despite her being weak? Hmm… well there are times when we really can’t explain how love is developed. Sometimes fate just does its way… o_o. And besides, there are really times when guys get attracted to a girl because he wants to protect her right? I know that sounds melodramatic but oh well… :p

I would want to see for myself as to how the development of each and every characters’ love story, before making any judgment. So, I’m looking forward to this game~
