Koutetsu Sangokushi Episode 1
I wasn’t supposed to blog something today, because I concentrated on doing other stuff first (making the most out of my vacation, at home), and also because I’m still contemplating as to whether or not watch Romeo x Juliet (I know it’s great and all, but with the tragic ending… sigh… =___=”’) And well, taking this “sneak peak” at Koutetsu Sangokushi urged me to do a little post about it (uhm, no… it’s not to praise it or anything, but rather to poke fun at it :p)
First, I watched the OP sequence, and behold…!
immediate reaction: “Err…BL?! o_O;;;”
and well, skipping through parts of the episode was enough to make me see how much of a BL-potential it has (it’s already in the works, actually…) and just how seme and uke those two characters are… >.>””
Hakugen (Lu Xun): Sensei, I’m so useless~
(the uke protagonist… emoting… (I hate angst, especially this kind) =___=”’)
Koumei (Zhuge Liang): No, you’re not useless, you can be of great use to me :p but rather because this world is heartless.
(the seme would-be-arch-enemy :p)
But wait, there’s more! :p

Hakugen: I don’t want to leave you, sensei~
the protagonist, lying helpless (and once again feeling useless) without his beloved sensei T__T
(he was saying “What should I do, sensei?! in the scene before this, when he was being chased) -> stop whining and decide for yourself! *whips* :p
Koumei: the star has began to move… I shall make my move as well (on Hakugen? o_O (LOL) :p)
Ok… have to stop… hehe ^^”’
When I saw the picture of this from the main site, I was actually thinking the protagonist would have some sort of romantic link with the girl on the pic, who is this (below)
Guess I was wrong then… o_o;;; It’s not that I’m against BL or anything… but what puts me off most about this anime is the weak / angsty personality of the main character. He reminds me soo much of Kira (GSeed) and Shinn (GSeed Destiny), and also a bit Wolf’s Rain’s Kira (who has the same seiyuu as Hakugen, Miyano Mamoru) -> the angst /berserk tendencies o_O
That said, it’s pretty obvious that I didn’t quite find a liking to this show =___=”’ (though, I did like the ED song, a bit slow and has this Chinese-music feel to it, like HaruToki Maihitoyo’s Hirari. Oh, and it’s sung by Miyano Mamoru, btw :3) But we’ll see, perhaps I’d change my mind and actually want to watch this show, if the later episodes prove to be interesting

I didnt even suspect BL when I saw this title on ANN, but my reaction was the same as yours when I saw the opening. Everything seems so BL tho~ It could be based of a game. Who knows? XD;; Anyways, even tho I didnt find this series to be all that great, I’m interested in the sensei’s motive, so I’ll continue to watch this

I felt the same way as you did when I saw RomeoxJuliet…. but I was bored so I decided to watch it. I think it’s definitely worth watching! ^^ Not sure if they will stick to the original tragic ending cos they changed the story but kept the characters.
Downloading the Sangokushi now… I like BL BUT I think the Zhuge Liang character design is kinda…. *cough* sissy -_-” anyway will decide later on when I finally get to watch it.
Ermz and btw, the “girl” you mentioned in the post….. I think its actually a guy according to the official website —– Sun Quan ^^” *falls down the stairs*
