Bokura no is one of the more serious shows among those that came out this spring. It’s also one of the shows I am eager to watch. The opening, sung by Ishikawa Chiaki of See-Saw fame, is a compelling invitation to witness the fate of the series’ characters. The lines “uninstall uninstall” immediately became lodged in my memory. Nonsensical? Well, if you understand the show’s premise, you’ll find out the song makes perfect sense.
Based on a manga by Mohiro Kitou, it was adapted into anime by GONZO. The animation as well as the character designs are simple in style but I think it suits with the mood of the story well. The episode begins with a narration from one of the characters, reminiscent of Takemoto in Honey and Clover. We are then introduced to the fifteen characters spending their afternoon at the beach. With a huge cast, I wonder if the series will properly develop each character. Their interactions, however, will be interesting. It reminds me a bit of those reality shows like Survivor where different people have to get along with each other. And like those reality shows, I wonder if this will be a last-man-standing kind of story.
The ending is again sung by Chiaki and shows scenes of each children sitting on different chairs. Hmm… I can’t wait to see what happens in the future episodes.

It’s pretty good so far, but something tells me there won’t be a happy ending ^_^;;
