Due to the lengthiness of my “thoughts” when it comes to Kaze no Stigma, attributed to the comparisons I make between the anime and its novel counterpart (and perhaps the manga counterpart in the future), I’ve decided to post these comparisons in a separate post. And now, we’ve decided to add another Feature of the Scrumptious Blog – “Deep Analysis”, featuring in-depth, deep-frying analysis of shows when we do some comparisons with its manga, or novel counterpart.

And on with the “deep-frying”…

Got to read the novel, but skipped the battle with Ryuuya part coz I was pretty much contented with what was shown in the anime (and yes, also because of my laziness :p). First off let me mention some differences I saw with the last episode… In the novel, before embarking on their mission, Ayano and Kazuma goes to some room (hotel?) first and sleeps before going to where the Fuuga (Wind Fang) are. Ayano’s thoughts were shown with regards to “hating” Kazuma, but at the same time acknowledging the fact that he’s become strong over the years. Four years ago, she used to think of him like a “stone by the wayside” (puny existence), and bullies him (and of course now the situation has changed, as Kazuma’s now the one ”bullying” Ayano instead :p). Then inside that room, Kazuma smokes and makes Ayano furious because the room is pretty small, and well voices out her complaint to Kazuma. And then, Ayano thinks and asks herself just why is it that she becomes more feisty (than what’s necessary) when it comes to Kazuma… then thinks that it’s most likely because of her “hate”

Before sleeping, Ayano warns Kazuma not to do anything to her or she’ll set him ablaze. Kazuma assures her of that, since he doesn’t have any interest in “barbaric women” (something like that :p) As Ayano lies on her bed to sleep, her face becomes teary-eyed as he remembers those words of Kazuma of having “no interest” in someone like her… and couldn’t comprehend just why she can’t help but feel disturbed by Kazuma’s words (and the things he does) And well, as they leave for their journey, Kazuma actually tells her to fasten her seatbelt, knowing the rough road ahead :p

And as for the novel differences with the current episode…

There were just minor differences with what was shown in the novel, but it would’ve been a great ‘addition’… like this scene where Ren hugs Ayano after she came back to life. Ren hugged her so tight that Ayano actually found it a bit painful (and realized just how much strength Ren has despite his looks), but nevertheless she pat Ren’s head, telling him not to worry because she’ll be there to protect him (that would’ve been a cute scene ^^). Kazuma of course snarls at this since the reason why Ren acted that way was because he was sooo worried about her, not because he needs the protection of someone who needs saving instead -> Ayano.

In the novel, Kazuma was the one who told Ayano about saving her life, but of course she doesn’t immediately believe him and confirms with Ren if this is true :p Ren tells her that it’s true, and couldn’t quite say with ease that he made her drink the medicine through the “mouth-to-mouth intake ^^)

Now this other “difference” I saw would’ve been really fun to see in the anime… and this is after the battle with Ryuuya, where Ayano grabs Kazuma by his collar and gets “on top of him”. Instead of asking Ayano how long she intends to “stay like that”, the novel mentions something like “you better refrain from straddling / “riding” on a guy with that “revealing” clothing”. He also blurts out a “word of advice” / insult, “be it as it may that a ‘little lady’ like you isn’t even sexy (he literally told her that her boobs aren’t sexy (lacking :p) ), there would be guys who’ll most likely be confused (and end up doing something to you – this is implied ;D)” And of course that infuriates Ayano even more XDDDD

And well, since I’ve been labeled by tactics as the “no.1 spoiler” of KnS, might as well live up to that and give out even more spoilers… mwahaha These aren’t really much of a spoiler (just some Kazuma x Ayano fluff that might get more people to love this pairing)… but since it happens much much later in the novels (like this one pic from volume 6 :p), it might be a spoiler for some. Well, I’m going to try and make this as un-spoilerish as possible (if it is possible :p) I’ve already showed this to the suki KnS community, but might as well post these pics here too ^-^ The character graph pic was much more of a spoiler than these, and I don’t think I intend to show that [just yet :p]

And then a last piccie I want to show… I looked at volume 1 again and looks like I wasn’t able to see this before… pic of Kazuma putting out a “dirty finger” way back when Shingo and Takuya were convincing him to be obedient and go with them.

Hehe… this pic cracks me up even more… LOL. Doing this “dirty finger” is soo like Kazuma
