Synopsis: The emperor’s reasons for wanting Chagum dead is revealed. Balsa makes preparations to flee with Chagum. Enemies follow them.

We see more of Chagum in this episode. I think Chagum is a great character. He’s not the usual spoiled, bratty, whiny royalty. There is that certain depth to him that makes him look more mature than his age. I think he’s nicely drawn as well.
We also get to know about Shuga, the star diviner and Chagum’s tutor. He seems to care about Chagum but becomes involved in political affairs, so I wonder where his loyalties really lie.
The episode ends with the emperor’s men going after Balsa and Chagum. I am excited to see how Balsa fights. This should be interesting.

Chagum is a very refreshing take on young royalties. I agree that he is quite mature for his age and I believe he understands his situation well and acts accordingly.
The overall production values is amazing and I mean AMAZING! I am still at awe, I hope it remains consistent for the rest of its duration.
The series just gives off a very different feel from the usual anime series. I dare say, it may be the best show of the season.
