Synopsis: Balsa defends Chagum from the emperor’s men but sustains mortal wounds. She asks the young prince to seek Tanda for help.

The fight scenes did not disappoint me. The movements were swift and not a detail was missed. Balsa’s good. The men she fought admitted she was formidable. Had her spear not break, she would have defeated them without a scratch.
I don’t think Seirei no Moribito follows the monster-of-the-week or rather the enemy-of-the-week formula where the emperor will send henchman after henchman to get the prince. Though the emperor will try to get the prince, that is only one aspect of the plot.
I wonder how much of a threat the water fiend is to the kingdom, that the emperor has to kill Chagum. Though the guy who caught Chagum didn’t want to deliver the prince, he thought it’d be better to kill Chagum himself, for the sake of the kingdom. How the political connect to the supernatural is yet to be explained.
I like the scene when Balsa lay almost dying in the forest floor and two warriors fought around her, as if real. we also see girl that looked like a young Balsa, a preview of Balsa’s past.

The fight scenes were perfect ne? On top of that, the rice field background is something to drool on. I replayed it over and over again. It looks sooo real.
The fight scenes were stunning. I couldn’t take my eyes from the episode for a second. I even cranked up the volume because the music was superb. I have nothing but praises for this show. I wonder how much budget they put into it to make each episode OVA-like in quality.
