Claymore – 05 “Teresa of the Faint Smile”
Synopsis: The Claymore Teresa takes an orphan girl with her. She names her Clare.
So we finally get to see the wavy-haired Claymore from the opening sequence. She is called Teresa of the Faint Smile because she seems to smile as she kills Yoma. Teresa, according to the hooded guy, is the strongest Claymore. Too bad she’s already dead (thanks to lightbringer for the info… you sure shed some light about her).
Anyway, after killing some Yoma at a certain village without much effort, a girl begins to cling to Teresa. According to the villagers, it was the Yoma who brought her. Despite Teresa hitting the orphan girl, the girl persisted even as far as following Teresa.
This episode provides us with another information regarding Claymores. They are prohibited from killing humans regardless of the circumstance. If they do so, they will be hunted by their fellow Claymores and killed. Because of that, Teresa would become responsible for the girl so she decides to take the girl with her.
It’s nice to see Teresa warm up to the girl. Since the girl couldn’t speak for some reasons, Teresa gave her the name Clare after one of the twin goddesses of love. The other’s name was Teresa.
Compared to Clare’s treatment of Raki, Teresa is more warmer than Clare, though she pushed and kicked her the first time. Raki didn’t experience that. clare, however, seemt aloof until Raki saved her from being awakened. But I guess Clare is able to show compassion to Raki because someone showed her compassion before.
I wonder what led to Teresa’s demise. Whatever it was, I can wait till the series reaches that part.

As for Teresa’s demise… look forward to it. As you’d expect from the organization’s number one, Teresa is anything but easy to kill. All I can say is,

Well, I’m afraid that it might ruin the season if you read it, but on the other hand it’s up to each individual to decide on that. I’m the kind of person who can’t live without spoilers, especially for any show that I like enough to hang around the 2chan thread hitting refresh while waiting for screens and then watching the raw *cough* Code Geass *cough*. -_- So since I always get spoiled by others, if I can for once be of help and offer some spoilers to others, it’s not a bad thing ^_^
So with that aside, here’s some more major spoilers from the manga. Things might not go quite that way in the anime, but if previous episodes are any indication of things to come, they likely will. These are major spoilers for flashback arc, including Theresa’s battle and Clare’s conversion to a Claymore. And I mean really major. This is a bit heavy on detail:

Priscilla killed her by chance because Teresa became soft-hearted. Teresa could’ve killed Priscilla if she wanted to. ^_^

I would have liked to see a few more fights between teresa and the other claymores. geez v_v the could have prolonged her death a few chapters more and insert some good fights there. I really like how she kicks the asses of the other 4 claymores so easily ._____. then comes shitty priscilla and blows her head off out of nowhere ;_; how gay was that, i was expecting something better.
Even tough Teresa died so early..She’s still the best and no one could ever replace her.. I don’t like the way she was killed..it was like she was not given any respect at all knowing that she was the no. 1 claymore..and I really really hate Priscilla for doing that… I just couldn’t accept that Teresa died just like that.. It was like a blink of an eye…It was so fast.. Really really shocking….
well thats the idea isnt it? she was caught off guard cos priscilla asked her to kill her. so teresa became hesitant cos she didnt wanna kill the lil girl, and priscilla used that to her advantage

Teresa was too honorable, the rest of them had no honor. But Clare will realise her true potential, and becaome the best, and she’ll show that bitch what’s what.
