Synopsis: The king issues a manhunt for Balsa but Balsa has a plan.

An egg of the Nyunga Ro Im, or what the Yogo people call a water fiend, is inside Chagum. According to Torogai, it is a creature capable of draining Sagu dry of water thus the predictions of drought by the star diviners. In the previous episode, Torogai mentioned that the Nyunga Ro Im is a denizen of Nayug. Chagum said that “Sagu” means “this world” in the Yakue language and perhaps “Nayug” means “afterlife”. Torogai didn’t explain further than this but she did say that both Nayug and Sagu exist side by side and support each other’s existence but are difficult to reconcile.
So one reason why the emperor wanted to kill Chagum is to prevent a drought. Torogai said that such occurence of a water fiend possession is rare. It happened during the founding of Yogo: Torgal defeated a water fiend that possessed a Yakue child then proclaimed himself emperor. I wonder what the Nyunga Ro Im’s intentions for laying the egg inside Chagum are. Revenge perhaps? Or to fulfill something that wasn’t accomplished before?
Unfortunately for Chagum, the egg cannot be removed and they must wait until it hatches. Thus he becomes the Nyunga Ro Chaga or Guardian of the Sacred Spirit. All the while, I thought it was Balsa who is the guardian but as it turns out she is the guardian for a guardian. A dilemma then arises for Balsa, will she still protect the prince even if a drought would occur and would threaten the lives of the Yogo and the Yakue?
Anyway, in this episode, we are introduced to the Blue Hand, some sort of organization, which Balsa has crossed paths with in the past. They are her key to escaping the emperor’s manhunt. I wonder how it will work. The next episode will tell.
