Synopsis: Kodama’s turn to pilot Zearth.

Finally, the fourth episode. Triad sure took long in subbing it.

Anyway, I didn’t like Kodama from the start but his character was just pitiful. According to him, lives are constanly created only to be discarded after. Only the strong, the chosen, are entitled to live. This perspective is influenced by his father, a man who is ruthless in his business. He doesn’t care if others will be sacrificed as long as his goals are achieved. Kodama’s brothers do not agree with their father but to Kodama, his father is his idol.

During his battle, their were plenty of casualties. He moved Zearth recklessly in the city, without regard to life and property. He said it would even help his father’s business. It is interesting to note that the enemy robot was careful not to destroy the city. Kodama’s father, however, was one of the casualties. Zearth fell down on top of the car his father was riding. Kodama, however, managed to defeat the enemy but died afterwards.

Koemushi told the children the sinister truth: Zearth moves by using people’s life forces. Thus, the cost of victory is death.
