I know this one’s been out for about a week now but I just felt the need to announce it ever since I got to listen to the tracks this morning. ^^ The OP Single of Lucky Star came out last May 23, 2007 and has been selling like hotcakes over the past week. It even ranked #2 in the Oricon charts (Japan’s version of the BillBoard) outselling Haruhi’s ED Single for Hare Hare Yukai for its first week of sales by almost double the amount.

Just like any other CD Single, this one contains just a few tracks. Two songs with a corresponding instrumental rendition of the two (for those who wants to sing along to the tune) which adds up to four tracks all in all. The songs are sung by none other than the seiyuus themselves: Aya Hirano (Konata), Kaori Fukuhara (Tsukasa), Emili Kato (Kagami) and Aya Endo (Miyuki).

The tracks are insanely catchy most especially the opening theme. Makes you just want to stand up and do the dance that they did in the OP animation. heheh! I’m hoping KyoAni would include a full dance animation for the OP if ever they plan to release this on DVD. Just like what they did with Haruhi’s Hare Hare Yukai (I still love that dance).

The CD costs around $12 (~550PHP) and you can still get yourself a copy over on Play-Asia. There’s also a CD entitled Lucky Star Outro Theme Drama coming out in July which might contain the full-length versions of the ending themes in the anime. Although these are still speculations at this point since not much details are available as of yet. I’ll surely be on the lookout for this and get you updates when it’s available. ^^
