Synopsis: A private detective named Guy is asked by a widow to search for her missing cat.

My initial reaction upon watching this episode was “What the heck”. This episode deviates from the usual Darker Than Black episodes. Instead of following Hei, we follow a private detective named Guy and his cosplaying pink-haired assitant named Kiko. Guy reminds me of Lupin III and somehow of Cowboy Bebop.

Anyway, the widow of a perfume tycoon asks Guy to find her cat. Recently, there has also been a series if suicides by employees of the company owed by the widow’s late husband. Guy thinks there is a connection between the missing cat and the suicides.

Meanwhile, a possession-type contractor is on the loose. His contract seems to be sniffing something. Hei and Mao are looking for him. Mao turns out to be also a possession-type contractor once. Unlike the contractor they’re after, Mao can also possess animals and for some reasons, he got stuck in a cat’s body.

Oh well, other watchers might think of this as a fun episode (with mild fanservice and some um… earcleaning). Not me, though.
