Synopsis: The search for the missing cat continues.

For some reasons, this episode reminds me of Murakami Haruki’s The Wind-up Bird Chronicle. Strange things do happen when one looks for a missing cat. In Guy’s case, his search led him to a garbage-littered house, perfume and a sock-sniffer.

I think the sock-sniffer’s situation was interesting. He was an Indian possession-type Contractor named Amitabh Kapoor who possessed another Contractor. However, due to an accident during the possession, Kapoor lost his body and he got stuck. Much like Mao.

At first, one would think that Kapoor’s contract is to sniff socks but as Mao explained, he probably completed his contract when he lost his body, just like him. The sock probably belonged to Kapoor and the scent of the sock would be the only remaining evidence of his physical past.

Though I did not like the previous episode, I would have to admit that this one is nice. The widow and Kapoor’s story tie up together through the concept of scent.
