Synopsis: The fight against the male Awakened Being ensues and the truth behind them is revealed.

Miria was worried that with her team, defeating the Awakened Being would be tough. Though Helen and Deneve showed exceptional abilities (Helen could stretch her arms while Deneve regenerated an arm quickly), the Awakened Being easily rendered them unfit for battle. Clare was knocked down too. Only Miria was left to fight.
Meanwhile, the organization sent another Claymore, Galatea, to observe the fight from a distance. Galatea could sense the flow of yoki even from afar and from that determine what is happening.
Miria, at first, was able to stand her ground against the enemy. She could increase her speed until only afterimages of her are seen. This ability gained her the nickname “Phantom Miria”. However, as Clare commented (after gaining consciousness), Miria can only do so briefly. The Awakened Being eventually gained the upper hand against her.
Clare, then, stood up to fight. Amazingly, she was able to dodge every blow of the enemy. I bet Helen was shocked. Afterall, she was the one who kept taunting Clare that she’s weak and now Helen is the one who’s incapacitated. Miria concluded that Clare trained herself to suppress her yoki until they can’t be detected that is why she is able to dodge the enemy. Clare can also detect yoki like Teresa. Clare, however, lacked in offense. Miria rejoined and with Clare, defeated the enemy.
Male Awakened Beings exist because there used to be male Claymores. However, they surpassed their limit sooner than females because the process of awakening brought a sensation akin to sexual pleasure.
Anyway, this was a good episode. I really loved the part when Clare fought. It was a quite good surprise.
Actually, Clare’s dodging the enemy is due to her Youki-sensing. Rather, her Youki-READING, the next step above. She can see the opponent’s Youki flow and determine which arm is going to move next - that type of thing.
Yeah, and in Claymore - guys sux.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that. She got the same ability as Teresa’s that can sense yoki.
Suck? Look at Ligardes and Isley. Heheh.
I guess, it’s not just to Clare’s “Youki-READING” that she was able to dodge the blows. If the enemy’s fast enough and you’re slow, you’d get hit. In Clare’s case, she didn’t move swiftly, she just walked calmly towards the enemy. The enemy was perplexed why he failed to hit her. The reason? He can’t sense Clare.
^ Not really, the enemy couldnt hit her because she dodged his attacks before he even attacked her.
I don’t think Clare’s youki level was lowered so the enemy would struggle. Rather she would get confused at reading the enemies youki if hers was high enough to interfere. That’s why Miria said she had to either learn how to switch from that defensive sensing to attack quickly or be able to read the youki even while her powers are released.
No matter how fast the enemy is as long as you are able to know where the attack is going to be dodging isn’t difficult. You only need to move slightly one way or the other.
After all most are using their eyes to follow the enemy and attack. Sensing the youki to that level to avoid attacks is something fairly unique.
