The Perfect Trap

Horikita Maki as Ashiya Mizuki
Mizuki, the willful and flat-chested heroine of the series who flies all the way from the United States to Japan, withstanding the challenges that await her as she delves into the world of an all-boys’ school just to meet her idol Sano.

Oguri Shun as Sano Izumi
A strong and athletic guy (thank goodness for athletic men) who is well-known for his abilities in high jumping. He was at the height of his career until one sudden accident changed all this, and it’s up to Mizuki to make a miracle and bring him back. It’s also worthy to note that he loves dogs and becomes a kissing freak when he turns drunk

Ikuta Touma looks so cute! Nakatsu > Sano (in this case)

Ikuta Toma as Nakatsu Shuichi
The fun and quirky soccer-loving character who provides much of the comic-relief in the series. He becomes infatuated with Mizuki and is in constant battle with his feelings of BL (or so he thinks).

Kamikawa Takaya as Umeda Hokuto
The school doctor who finds out Mizuki’s secret right away (thanks to his BL-ESP), and acts like an older brother to her as he becomes his constant source of advice (especially with regards to the secret she keeps). He’s known for being a ‘playboy’ and delights in the fact that he’s surrounded by BOYS in the school he’s in.

Kimura Ryou as Senri Nakao
A ~~TRAP~~ feminine-like guy holding strong feelings for Minami, who at first keeps it secret but eventually stands up for his love and constantly throws attacks (physically, or glaringly) at girls flirting with him.

Okada Masaki as Sekime Kyogo
The megane-kun captain of the track team who’s often seen together with Shinji Noe (his roommate).

Mizushima Hiro as Nanba Minami
The sexy and flirtatious leader of Dorm#2, who’s also the nephew of Umeda. He is known to be a “ladies man” (aka playboy), but doesn’t get involved in a serious relationship due to a melancholic past relationship. ~~No, he didn’t become gay like his uncle after that incident, he’s a genuine feminine-loving heterosexual.~~

Yamamoto Yusuke as Kayashima Taiki
Nakatsu’s roommate and also his good friend. A serious and emotionally-void-looking guy who can see poltergeists and detect people’s auras, and used to be teased due to his ESP-like abilities.

What’s with the thick and pouty lips?! x__X

Yuu – OOZING with SEXINESS (talk about being biased :p)

Shirota Yuu as Kagurazaka Makoto
A competitive person by nature and Sano’s great rival in high jumping. He may be a recurring character, but we don’t think the title will live up to its name if not graced with the presence of Yuu Shirota (so sue us) :p

I am a HUGE fan of HanaKimi I can’t wait for this to be released, i only hope some group will do subs for it.

How much of the manga is being used do you know? Would be awsome if they did the full thing, but I’m betting they only do 12/13 eps, like they usually seem to do with these types of shows. Not sure how much they could get in in that time frame though.

I’m not sure Horikita Maki is right for the role though to be honest, she’s to womany (no offense lol) i mean she’s to easy to spot as being a woman, and couldn’t pull it off as being a girl in an all guy school. I wouldn’t even call her cute to be honest, she is good looking, but not the cute side that Mizuki has.

Be interesting to see if she can play Mizuki’s personality right.

Soooo excited for this, though maybe it has too much hype? Oh well ;D If it’s as fun of an adaption as Hana Yori Dango was then I’ll be ecstatic
I’ve always been a Sano person and like Oguri more than Ikuta. So… Sano gets five stars from me, haha ♥

Omigod! The casting totally beats the TW adaptation. Erm, the cuteness factor, I mean. I did love Ella, though. I have a soft spot for her. I was already fangirling at Shun but the Yuu dude is some kind of hott! Should I prepare for smelling salts? I demand shameless fanservice!!

Wow, if the drama becomes really popular, I wonder if there is any chance of the manga being animated?

Halfway through watching the raw right now; and LOL I almost freaked at Umeda-sensei. Nanba’s actor is kinda funny and the aura around Kayashima. LoL.

please please don’t everybody yell at me or kill me for saying this but i think its amazing that anime characters have the biggest eyes and asians have the smallest, Im not being racist just i just thought it was weird since japanese invented anime right? Anyways the okada dude looks weird with the big adams apple… i guess i just don’t find these people attractive but unfortunately Wolfram the blonde haired blue eyed beauty does not exist in real life *cries in corner* I wish we had real bishounen!!!! *cries some more*

definitely a bunch of cuties there. I am looking forward to this since I didnt really like the tw adaptation of the manga. whats with umeda? he’s supposed the be the best looking of the bunch…. cries…

One of the features I love about Nanba is the eyes and um, Mizushima Hiro SO does not have THE eyes…is it just me or at that angle he looks sorta like Marc Anthony…tis the eyes and lips…

Kimura Ryou has feminine enough eyes for Nakao’s role…but the rest of his features..his face is a tad um, wide isn’t it?

Man, that pic of Makoto is ssssmooking…sexy..but Shirota Yuu’s pic next to it hardly measures up…

I think I’m most disappointed with the casting of Kamikawa Takaya as Umeda. I like the Taiwan version of Umeda better lol..sure he was playing up the stereotypical gay man but damn, he was fun, sexy and wicked lol.

I wonder if I’ll get lynched by Oguri Shun fans if I said, dude is looking a lil older than his role and his hair is so poofy in the pic…hee.

Can’t wait to watch the first ep.

Anyway, i agree he looks like an old man in this, Umeda is supposed to be a hot, but twisted guy. He looks like a bog standard old doctor, nothing sexy about him at all, more creepy than anything else lol.

Only thing we need now is for them to announce an anime, then i can die a happy guy

Ya know, perhaps i shouldnt write posts when i just woke up and havent had my coffee yet hehe

Yeah Umeba was a bit off, but the actor for Kayashima Taiki disturbed me more…@__@ so pouty the lips are and uhh shiny ~__~

but yeah this series is very interesting indeed. I’ve only seen the Taiwanese version, I’m on episode 9 I think. Can’t wait to watch the jap version. ^__^

@Dont quite agree Actually, our view has changed since the time of the writing of this post. Granted, the picture does not truly give justice to Kamikawa Takaya. However, I do agree that he looked quite handsome in the JDrama itself

I finished the series last night. Verdict: Yummy!

Er, I mean, I had fun watching, especially with Nakatsu around. And Toma’s gonna star as Takemoto in the live action adaptation of H&C! Oh I want to fast-forward to next year!!

I finished this dorama a couple of days ago and I must say I loved it!!!!! At least for me it is a MUST WATCH!!! besides so many beautiful guys in one Dorama is more than I can ask for

The only actors that actually (or kind of) match with their characters are Ikuta Toma, Horikita Maki, Oguri Shun (his hair, not so much), and Shirota Yuu. The others, I was so disappointed with. I mean, couldn’t they cast a girl for Nakao, or at least a girly-looking guy? What’s with the scrawny actor being cast as Nanba? And, omigod, Umeda. I was looking forward to the hot actor who was going to be him! But, alas, the casting manager had to pick that dude. (No offense.) Gah! Even Mizuki’s brother! He’s supposed to be a young, hot, non-bearded blond! Oh forget it.

I’m up to ep. 11 of the hana kimi drama (jap version) and I love toma ikuta…shun oguri is great too but now that I look back at the manga oguri’s too taciturn to play sano…and WHAT is with the actor playing umeda??? Umeda’s one of my fav bishies and WHAT have they done with him?????? Urgh…*cries*
but to sum it all up, the MANGA is the best version of Hana kimi, which is THE BEST shojo manga EVER.
