We interrupt our normal programming and bring you a retrospective news about the typhoon that struck Japan, particularly some events on the 14th of July 2007. Amidst the storm on that day…

Japan in the brink of the Storm
…one little bunny stormed her way to Kinokuniya and Mandarake instead, overcoming the hurling winds just to get her dose of anime / manga delicacies (note: she was able to do this despite her bad coughs) :p The casualty? Nothing else but her pouch of yens (yes she’s a special bunny with a large pouch XD). It does of course have its merits as well, such as THESE…
and these…

Hiiro no Kakera and Hanakimi artbook still fresh in its plastic
and this (LOL) It’s a “plastic protected” paper bag the kind sales personnel of Kinokuniya gave the little bunny. Perfect for the storm :p

plastic protected paper bag
other stores have closed down earlier that day because of the storm, and thus the little bunny wasn’t able to check them out for other anime goodies (and who knows how much more stuff she would’ve bought)
in the end, she went home and slept peacefully in her room flooded by mangas, then woke up as though nothing happened as she eats a bunch of melon pans :p

melon pans~ yum~
- the end -
(all puns intended)
And now for the latter part of this mini-bunny-session…
A Bunny’s Confession
Among the pile of stuff I bought, only these are the supposedly “planned” ones…
Saiunkoku manga
Kaze no Stigma Ignition 4
Potemayo
Hanakimi artbook
Hiiro no Kakera artbook
Go Virginal Hanayuki
As to how I got to buy the plethora of other “unplanned” stuffs (some of which are stuff I want to buy, but not supposedly right here and right now), here goes…
Saiunkoku novels – During the course of my stay here (and that’s like what? days??), I was able to decide on buying only volumes 7-9… but then I took a peek at the later volumes and saw Ryuuki x Shuurei moments D: Sigh… I’m so weak… so there, I bought until the latest volume of the novel out ><
W-Juliet II 1 – somewhat on impulse… I love W-Juliet, and thought I’d feed myself with more W-Juliet <3
Zig x Zag 6 – I’ve been faithfully following the chapters that come out in Lala… and really liked what I saw in the latest chapters, so I bought the latest one out. I was hoping to see volumes 5 and below in Mandarake (for a cheaper price) but nothing else but volumes 1-3 are there, so I didn’t buy it anymore (see, I have control!)
Rental Magika 1 – this is… on impulse… must be because of the craze with the upcoming anime and all x___x
Natural – First of all, I love Minako Narita soo much (I’m planning on collecting her works starting from Cipher)
and well, hmm… I have her latest work “Hana yori mo Hana no Gotoki”, and it mentions that Natural is a prerequisite to get to know the characters better. That made me put Natural in my “mangas to buy” list, but not right now… I guess seeing them in bunko form finally made me give in to buying it x___x (the other work of Minako Narita I bought is something on impulse as well, though I did plan on buying it online before (but it was out of stock that time) :3)
Yumi Tamura stuff – I love Basara, and I’m drawn to her works. So, I saw these two mangas which I haven’t read yet, and in bunko form! >< (FYI, I actually restrained myself from buying one other bunko by Yumi Tamura I saw in Mandarake)
Despite all this 'damage', I actually put up some 'fight' in terms of resisting the urge to buy some other stuff, like:
Yasashii Ryuu to Watashi no Kuroshikata manga – I got enchanted by the cover… but good thing the novel version is open to reading, and made me rethink about buying it ><
Guardian Princess novel – saw this beautiful ad inside Kino about a thief and a princess, and the pic and the setting was enough to tempt me to buy it… but I was able to restrain myself in the end (whew).
Kiss to Do-jin – the Love Revolution (PS2 game) artwork brought it to my attention… and I really found it fun (based on the synopsis). The fanservice for girls really tempted me to buy it… but alas! I didn’t ><
Yamamoto Zenjirou to Moushimasu – it’s been quite some time since I’ve read Youko Maki’s work and decided to buy this… but I controlled the urge and told myself to check on the title first before buying ><
There are also other stuff I have in mind which I (unfortunately or unfortunately) wasn’t able to find, such as:
Cipher artbook / the collection
Tonari no Takashichan by Yuuki Fujimoto (only volume 1 is in Mandarake, so I didn’t buy it anymore)
And well, Minako Narita is <33 so I ordered it from Amazon JP (yes, I failed and ordered from Amazon JP DX). By the time I’m editing and checking this post, my Cipher collection artbook has already arrived, and I love it~!! I bought it for such a cheeaap price as well, at 1090 yen (original price is 2800 yen), and it’s almost as good as new (it even comes with a hard plastic cover) :)
I am such a failure that I have also ordered Minako Narita’s Watermark artbook, together with Cipher the video book and the VHS, so sue me DX (I still have a VHS at home, so I’m pretty much in my sane mind when I made this order)
(Thank goodness I’m only going to be here for three weeks or else… I’ll have an entire shelf worth of collection already x____x)
I envy you from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!
Of course, it´s not a bad envy. Someday, someday, I´ll have enough money to buy all the stuff I love.
And please, continue with Saiounkoku´s chapter reviews.
Thanks.
ditto
And even more so, since I can’t read Japanese *SIGH*
omg. i want to go to Japan and flood the room with manga and anime stuff >.>. way to go bunny! ^^
I’m drooling at the melon pan…
Could you send me some too? LOL
