This is the last day I’m going to be staying in Japan before I finally go back to my home country again… so I decided to stay up until this time to watch Kaze no Stigma live yet again :3 And of course that means I missed a lot in the conversations as well, but since I’ll just be giving teasers, it should be enough :p
The father and son brawl finally happens, in this onsen-filled episode… Soushu once again plots something to have Kazuma and Ayano “get it on” (complete with his dream sequence of the scene x___x), with the help of Yukari and Nanase, as well as Ren (well sort of, they all got dragged into the onsen party). Catherine also joins the bunch, who appears out of nowhere yet was nowhere to be found by the end of the episode either (which is good, though it shows how this episode could’ve just omitted her from the scenes… it was waste of time in my opinion x___x). Catherine could be said to have “seen Kazuma in another light” as Kazuma enters the same onsen she was in :p (I would’ve loved it more if Ayano was the one who saw him like that XD) Coincidentally, Genma also goes to the same onsen with Kirika (well what do you know… I guess the animators are indeed trying to show that Kirika holds feelings for him).
Amazingly enough, despite the swimsuits and bareness (?) in this episode, the animators seemed to have lost interest in adding any more unnecessary fanservice. The focus of the episode was the father and son brawl (rendered in a rather crappy action sequence
), which consisted of three rounds (with Kirika serving as the “referee” of the fight). With the change in the setting and the way the fight went, I was getting worried how they will insert that little sweet scene I was anticipating… but to my relief, they managed to show us that in the last few minutes of the show :3 Perhaps not as sweet and touching as I was imagining things to be based on the novel, but a sweet scene still~ ^-^ (the animators forgot about Catherine and didn’t show her interrupting with the Kazuma x Ayano moment, which is all good :p)
Next week, is yet another filler episode, with Nanase being the highlight this time… she’s being cursed or something, and they have this battle with the perpetrator >< I have no idea where in the novel this came from, so I don’t know what to expect in the next episode. The preview showed Kazuma and Ayano, who’s going to fight this wrestler kind of guy, and I don’t know what’s going to happen either :) (Having Kazuma and Ayano antics will always be great)
you said some things and in the same time you said nothing acually that it would mean anything, at least for me… so i will need to wait for the acuall episode to be online ready to be downloaded…heh thanks anyway usagijen :))
Hmmm…interesting. Was Catherine supposed to be in the onsen with everyone??? Or did GONZO just put her in there just for the heck of it..(or cause more trouble for Ayano?)
Well, this episode will be pretty interesting. Can’t wait to see it! ^__^ Thanks for the teaser
Thanks for the teaser and have a safe trip back.
Well at least it sounds like the sweet scene that was talked about should make it in, which is a relief. Since I don’t have high hopes for action sequences in this series.
But now I’m really getting lost on what Gonzo is thinking (yeah thinking+Gonzo, scary). If they are just throwing something in from nowhere. I mean they are really making it impossible to fit the rest of the novels in at this rate. Either they are trying to leave some open for another season or something odd is up. Guess we’ll find out eventually.
Does sound like Genma and Kirika are being paired. Ugh. What a disastrous turn of events. Makes Kirika look like such a floozy. It’s clear from the beginning that she was anxious to see Kazuma return to Japan, and it’s clear that she was sleeping with him. Now, for no apparent reason, she’s attached to his father? We never even saw the slightest falling out between her and Kazuma.
I always thought Kirika was a better pairing for Kazuma. She is more of his style, from his world. Though we do not really know how Takahiro Yamato will conclude this story, I always envisioned Kazuma being more a big brother to Ayano, than her lover. It just does not fit for him to develop romantic feelings for her.
Still, even if Kirika was never going to be anything more than a supporting cast, who never has a chance with Kazuma, I wouldn’t have expected her to be trivialized into a whore-for-hire for any powerful jutsushi that happened to be around. I admit, I’m disappointed.
i have watched this episode, and i am dissapointed on how little time they give to kazuma & ayano … those few sec in the end… waaa … :/ usagijen, what happends in the novel between them?
I thought the fight scenes were hilarious as well as poorly animated. But Genma and Kazuma going at it with nothing but their towels … hawt (though they could have been drawn a lot better). What was Genma saying after he sent Kazuma flying?
Although sweet, I’m surprised that Ayano even let Kazuma lay in her lap in the end.
i like the pair!kazuma x ayano..and i think they sould be together….=) yeh!!!i trully hope so
I think the fight scenes were poorly animated on purpose. It was hilarious.
Also, now that I have re-watched the episode, I realize that Kirika and Genma are not having a relationship at all. It is alluded that they were in the area (on business?) and happened to take the opportunity to stop at an onsen.
Furthermore, when Kirika was teasing Ayano and Ren about her having an affair with Genma, Kazuma dismisses it, saying that they shouldn’t take Kirika so seriously. He seems to know what their relationship is.
Ah, and I’m not clear on something, because I have no access to the novels, but is Kazuma’s mother still alive? There is no mention of her death, and in the anime, she only appears in a flashback from four years ago, coldly giving Kazuma a credit card so he would go away.
We’ve already seen some of the tension dissipate between Father and Son, but we have yet to see a relationship resolution between mother and son (if she is still alive).
Minor note, because I am now watching this episode. DAMN Genma is hot. He is BUILT and I personally would not be surprised if Kirika WAS going for him.
@Tomochii-Chan: they just used the onsen scene and placed Catherine, just for the heck of it ^^;;;
@FlareKnight: thanks for that! now I’m finally back safe~ and yes, I also don’t know what GONZO is thinking… at this rate, they can only fit until volume 5 of the novel, if they still decide to revert back to the main plot.
@Abel: I’m not too sure about the ‘Kazuma sleeping with Kirika’ part… there’s no explicit mention about it in the novel so despite it being possible, I think I’d rather think that there’s nothing between them but purely ‘professional’.
Pairing up Kirika with Kazuma seems to be a bit… boring, in my opinion. The Kazuma x Ayano antics are such a fun watch. And I think Kazuma can have more fun teasing Ayano :p I can see Ayano making Kazuma more happy, in more ways than one
but, to each his own ^^
and you’re right about the ‘real score’ between Genma and Kirika. Regarding Kazuma’s mom, she’s still alive and well. There was a brief mention of her during Ren’s arc, where she was said to be worried about Ren. But no confrontation between the mother and son has happened from what I’ve seen…
@kazumaXX: the scene that happened in the novel was pretty much like that, but I envision it was much much longer and sweeter~ I’ll be mentioning about it in my next KnS post
@sakura: I hope so too! ^^
@Riiya: LOL. It’s not surprising how Genma could be built that way. He and Soushu are the greatest flame wielders in their clan after all
