Synopsis: Clare is assigned a new mission to hunt an Awakened Being. She is teamed with Ophelia who senses that Clare has the smell of an Awakened Being.

First and foremost, it’s not like I haven’t seen the latest Claymore episode but since the series is almost ending, I decided to finish what I have started. Been really busy at work, I could only watch the episodes but not blog about them. And that is even an understatement.

Anyway, this episode has a rather creepy feel to it though I don’t know whether to attribute it to Ophelia (who IS creepy), the stuff going on between Clare and Raki, or the animation’s declining quality.

Clare finally met the sadistic Ophelia whom Miria warned about in the previous episode. Though it is forbidden for a Claymore to kill humans, Ophelia attacks Raki. Ophelia retorts that it wouldn’t be a problem if there are no witnesses. She cuts off Clare’s legs and fights Raki. She explains that she will fight Raki according to his strength but she will increase hers every minute. The challenge for Clare would be to reattach her legs and rescue Raki before his head gets lopped off by Ophelia. Suddenly, an Awakened Being appears. She sees Raki and takes an interest in eating him.

Clare manages to attach her legs in time to save Raki from the Awakened Being. Ophelia is amazed at how Clare was able to do this and thinks that Clare has awakened. The Awakened Being, being ignored, proceeds to attack Ophelia giving time for Clare and Raki to escape. Ophelia defeats the Awakened Being with some cunning and starts to come after Clare. Fearing Raki’s safety, Clare separates from him and promises that they will meet again someday.
