Synopsis: Ophelia catches up with Clare who cuts off Clare’s right arm. An unexpected help comes.

Clare fights Ophelia but is having a hard time with Ophelia’s Rippling Sword, a technique where Ophelia waves her sword back and forth with great speed making it difficult to dodge or block her attacks. Clare continues to attack but this time, her right arm gets cut off. Ophelia attacks again and Clare falls off a cliff.

Clare is still alive and attempts to reattach her arm but Ophelia follows. She explains that there are two types of Claymores: those that excel in offense and those that excel in defense. Offensive types, like Clare, aren’t adept at regenerating their body parts. They must rejoin the limbs that are cut off from the body. Before Clare could do anything, Ophelia slashes her fallen arm to bits. Clare tries to fight but this time Ophelia cuts her wrists off. Ophelia would’ve finished her off when a stranger appeared. Ophelia attacks the stranger but turns out helpless amidst seemingly invisible sword swings. The stranger turns out to be Irene.

The next scene shows Clare being nursed back to health. Irene brings food to Clare saying that she passed out after her wrist was reattached. Clare wanted to come after Ophelia but Irene stops her saying that with her present condition, Clare wouldn’t be able to do anything.

Irene remembers Clare as the girl who was with Teresa. She was surprised that Clare knew her name. According to Clare, she researched everything about that incident and about Priscilla as well. She never expected Irene to be still alive. Irene says that she’s the one who’s surprised as she did not expect the little girl back then to become a warrior. Irene asks whether the one inside Clare is Teresa’s and realizes that Clare might be going after Priscilla. Irene tells Clare to give it up as Priscilla’s power is overwhelming and since Clare has Teresa’s blood, she is only a quarter Yoma and inferior in all aspects.

Irene explains that after losing her arm in the incident with Priscilla, she faked her death and went to a place where the organization could not be found. She suppressed her yoki to the level that it cannot be detected. Clare asks Irene if she gave up fighting. Even though she has only an arm left, she is still powerful. Irene replies that she is scared of death. Irene then decides to teach Clare her flash sword technique.

Meanwhile, Ophelia is in despair after having been defeated by Irene. It seems that before she became a Claymore, her brother sacrificed his life so she can escape from a one-horned monster. In her anger and desparation, Ophelia releases too much Yoma energy.
