Thoughts

This episode was riveting and gripping. It glued me to my seat and was afraid to blink, lest I miss any of the action. As Nishiura edged closer and closer to scoring, my breathing was slowly staggering.

For several times at bat, Tajima failed to hit Junta’s sinker, till that moment. The tensed atmosphere, the relentless rain, the muffled sounds of the audience, everything was carefully weaved to create that magical moment. One can only imagine how sweet that victory must have felt for Tajima. When Tajima shot his fist and roared in triumph, I was overcome with emotion.

Yokatta ne, Tajima? TT__TT

I am really looking forward to see if Mihashi will crack under the pressure. Tosei has a respectable amount of power hitters and they already have a lot of success against Mihashi’s pitches. The tables could easily turn. I haven’t spoiled myself with the manga, so I really do not know who will come out the winner.

Episode 24, HERE I COME!

Notice

This is still a work in progress. Come back soon for the final write-up.

  2. I can’t count the number of times I re-watched this ep. I just love the slow buildup: Abe locking eyes with Kazuki in challenge; Abe just barely beating the ball to first; Izumi laying down a perfect bunt and sprinting to first; Sakaeguchi psyching himself up to sacrifice bunt; and finally, Tajima’s incredible swing and hit (how the heck did he manage to keep that ball fair?) followed by his vindication as he stood on first base. It just gets me every time.

(Also, I wanted to let you know that this post isn’t filed with the others under the Oofuri tag. If I click on that to view only Oofuri posts, it skips from 22 to 24.)

  3. @kaei Yeah, I managed to catch up somehow @__@ Hehehe. Finish watching the episodes! The series is just so wonderful!

@Wonapalei That moment with Tajima will be be etched in my mind for a very long time. I understand what you feel… Totally… I really felt that I was there with him and joining him in his triumph.

Thanks for pointing out that I forgot to file this post properly. The story is wonderfully done by Asa Higuchi and animated well by A-1. I can’t sing enough praises for this show!
