Instead of claymores they would use light sabers :)
They are equally destructive with the force or yoki :) hehehe

@bum3le8e3

Star wars meets Claymore would be interesting. I like when Raki, playing Yoda, tells Clare that Priscilla is her father. Lol.

@everyone :)

True, true. What also made the plot compelling was its fast pace, either in the anime or the manga.

Still, I think the animation is crappy. I've seen so many anime that my standard regarding animation becomes higher.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Ending was full of crap! The moment they deviated from the manga I knew it would end like this. I would have been happier if they just ended it with a HUGE cliffhanger than change the story. heheh

Second season would be even more crap if they are planning on making one since the little details surrounding the entire story has been changed. Probably the only way to restore it would be to introduce amnesia to all the characters involved in the Northern War and get things back on track with the manga. lol Pure Disappointment.

I do agree the animation wasn't very good but those fast paced action scenes and the plot kept me watching till the end.

Found the animation to be excellent compared to your average Japanese TV Series (check Kaze no Stigma per ex.).
Also, I found the ending very satisfying given the manga context (not over and not resolving anything at this point).
I guess it also let them (MH) able to make a second season or even a third to fill in the 7 year gap eh?
As long as a they arrive to the same situation as the one described in the manga (Raki actually goes MIA, has been in jail and supposedly escaped). /shrug. Wait and see, but overall a good ending to a magnificent series. Definitely a DVD buy.

I did not find the animation crappy (either I have low standard or I don't have any idea what it means).

The good thing about the anime was it was fast-paced, not in the sense that you'd want it to finish immediately, but to make the story standout. The manga too is quite good in pacing. The anime made it better by including only what is relevant to the setting and plot. And resist the urge to create moving fillers between each manga frame.

No point discussing because its just plain disconcerting?

Anyway, thanks for the summary...saves me the trouble of actually seeing it myself.

It's a total let down. If they would arc out of the manga, at least they should have made a little justice. The ending was like star wars where darth vader did not die...instead runs away with the emperor and lives in remote island.

They thought they can get away with it. They freeze the claymore universe at the last chapter in pieta, decided they can do anything to the characters as long as the character state stays the same. "Lets kill jean, she dies in the manga anyway". "We should get Galatea do a cameo, she was mentioned in the manga too". "How do we keep them from killing each other?". "Ok we make raki to be yoda". "Clare would be luke skywalker". "Raki tells Clare 'Priscilla is your FATHER'". And I think you get it from there.

Ok let take a character check. Clare, Raki, Miria, Deneve, Helen are still alive, right? Same in the manga. Jeane died, galatea should up. Isley is still with Priscilla. Exacly in the manga.

End of story. That's it.
