As promised, here goes my deep frying / love prediction corner for the first episode of KimiKiss (with some help from the manga and novel)~ People who have been used to reading our deep frying / deep analysis posts will be able to have an idea that when we call it “Deep Frying”, it simply means something Scrumptious is cookin’ So dive in, as this little bunny who will perhaps be known as the Love Doctor Bunny after this guide you to the world of KimiKiss~

The Love Prediction Corner

Eiji Kai and Mao Mizusawa

Mao never went to France in the game (I’m assuming it’s the same as the manga), she just transformed into a beautiful woman years after. Adding the trip to France then going back after two years is a more plausible reason behind the change in her look, and this makes her relationship with classmate Eiji Kai have more room for development. I can pretty much see that he’s gonna be paired up with Mao-neesan, and he is the kind of guy I want for a mature girl like Mao. I think her quirkiness and gentleness will reach through this guy, and break this “barrier” he’s creating around himself. I sense a build-up in his character later on Oh, and did I say he’s hawt? :p

As for the real Kouichi in the game, he’s supposed to be Kouichi Aihara, not Kouichi Sana, and doesn’t have any other childhood friend but Mao. He’s also supposed to have a sister, but it seems that they created a new persona in the name of Kazuki Aihara, who inherited both Kouichi’s supposedly last name and his sister. Kazuki also earns the title of being one of the other childhood friends in Kouichi’s life, which is an indication that they won’t be pairing up Kouichi with Mao (since there’s some part in the story where Kouichi gets insulted because he never plays with any guys, and still tags along with Mao despite his age).

Narumi + Nana = yuri?

With Kazuki “inheriting” Kouichi’s sister, I guess this means that we also won’t see the brazacon sister in the game/manga, since Kazuki isn’t the type of brother whom his sister will actually have a crush on (like a prince charming of some sort) :p There is supposedly that classmate of Nana (Kazuki’s sister), who admires her brother (supposedly Kouichi in the game, since he is THE guy there), the sempai. But then now, I don’t know if they’re going to have this girl, Narumi Satokana, admire Kouichi or Kazuki. But no matter what, I think she’ll only be a side character throughout, who’s most possible pairing is with Nana (which will make yuri fans happy ^^;;; ). I’ve seen some of this yuriness in the manga, most of which are from the anthology gags though.

Kouichi Sanada and Yuumi Hoshino

And now onto Kouichi. His character remained faithful to the game, except for the athletic side of him, which have now been transferred to his best friend Kazuki. I’m thinking they’re going to follow the novel in terms of his pairing. From what we’ve seen in this episode, both he and Hoshino become red tomatoes just at the sight of each other. Just for a little background regarding these two… Kouichi have been classmates with Hoshino ever since 1st year high school, and he’s had a crush on her ever since. He is however, the shy type of guy (and I think it was obvious in the episode), and couldn’t really approach the girl he likes. Seeing Hoshino blush at the sight of Kouichi, I’m thinking that their feelings for each other are mutual at this point. I’m not sure if they’ve spent some time together in the past years of high school since I didn’t read the novel in detail, but I think it’s obvious that Hoshino has feelings for him as well.

Now this is where Mao-neechan steps in between, as she becomes the love cupid who mediates between Kouichi and Hoshino. Since Mao will most likely have a love interest of her own in the person of Eiji, I think it’s pretty safe to say that Mao will have her own happy ending. I’m not yet sure if they’re going to make us see that Mao holds feelings for Kouichi, though I’m thinking Kouichi is the primary reason why she came back. Given that, perhaps she’ll realize the feelings she harbors for Kouichi, but eventually get over this as she learns to accept that he loves someone else (Hoshino) and bid him happiness. Eiji will most likely be her source of comfort during this time of sadness and pain, and eventually, make their romance blossom~ pardon the cheesiness I’m looking forward to how Mao and Eiji’s relationship will go about.

The two girls in Kazuki’s life, energetic Asuka and mysterious Eriko

With regards to Kazuki, there are two possible women in his life now. At first I thought his definite pairing would be Asuka, since she was introduced as his soccer practice-mate. These practice sessions are what supposedly brought about the development in their relationship from coaching / friendship, to something more. But then, here comes the mysterious brunette Eriko who suddenly kisses / takes advantage of Kazuki’s innocence. It is too early to tell if Eriko was indeed attracted to the attitude he showed when he gave back her test paper, or she’s once again being a rebel and is trying out things just to see how people will react to it. In any case, I still am an Asuka fan, so I am hoping that Kazuki will end with her instead. Eriko will most likely learn something more than just love from her encounters with Kazuki, from the way I see it.

Mitsuki + Akira = <3?

The only heroine (game-wise) who still hasn’t made her appearance is the ojousama / pianist / ballerina Mitsuki, who I believe will be paired up with the playboy Akira Hiiragi (the green-haired guy who’s also in the same class and club as Kouichi and Kazuki). Hiiragi is still shallow at this point, but I believe he will undergo much character development from all these encounters.

In the manga (and most likely in the game), an accidental “kiss encounter” by the stairs is what drawn Mitsuki to the protagonist. I’m thinking they’ll probably use that scene in the anime as well… we’ll see~ :3
