KimiKiss pure rouge Episode 2 – cool beauty

I think I’m gonna divert from my usual summary & thoughts post for KimiKiss, since the subs come out pretty quick, and the story isn’t really all that complicated to require further enlightenment. Suteki Tantei Labyrinth will probably need that, not because it needs “light” (heck it already has MUCH of it), but because not much people is giving it <3. There are also a number of blogs out there who’s blogging this show, and I’m one of the uber delayed ones, so… LOL. I’m not gonna waste my efforts putting up summary which no one will read anyways :p

When the episode started and Nana was showing Kazuki her frilly new uniform, “Brazacon Nana” registered in my mind again. So I guess we’ll see more Nana x Kazuki brother-sister love from hereon, with some minor differences in how the brother reacts since he turned into a tsundere (from the supposedly ouji-sama type Kouichi).

Nana enters Kibina High and already violates school rules on her first day, for bringing a toy in school. I actually thought her classmates are going to make fun of her because of this kiddy frog toy, but it looks like they made the froggie pave the way for a new friendship with Narumi. Nothing much was shown about Nana’s first day in school, just some scenes with their opening ceremony (a nifty way of depicting events in school, much like in Tokimemo), and some moments with her and Narumi (yuri? :p)

Similar to how things were in the manga, I can say these new characters introduced will simply be side characters, as the focus will be on the romantic relationships with the male and female leads. I’m certain that they won’t complicate the relationships even more, since Nana’s idea of a karaoke party will actually give chance for Kouichi to become closer to Yuumi (to be shown in the next eppie).

Give me back my first kiss!

Kazuki is still hung up with what happened to him (he was *gasp* defiled :p). I can’t blame him for being really affected by the kiss from Eriko though, especially her blatant remark which was quite a blow to his manliness. It was like telling him, “you’re a pathetic kisser”, despite the fact that she was the one who kissed him. That was the innocent guy’s first and precious kiss, and yet it didn’t mean anything to her. poor guy…

Despite how un-innocent and aggressive Eriko seems however, both she and Kazuki could be considered as naïve. Eriko must have read some books about how kissing feels good, but of course it shouldn’t be taken as a fact. She puts her mind over her heart whereas Kazuki is the opposite. Eriko is quite, devoid of feelings still at this point, and I believe Kazuki will be the one to fill that emptiness in her. I’ve been pondering on what the paper plane symbolizes… Perhaps it represents Eriko’s heart, who wants someone to understand who she really is and what she wants. She’s still a lost sheep at this point, seemingly like the paper plane which doesn’t know where it’s headed yet.

Looks like we won’t have this pairing anymore… at least at this point.

As much as I like to see Eriko’s development from an ice princess to a human, I’m still saddened by how Asuka seems to be just a minor character up until now. I’m still crossing my fingers and hope that she will get to have a romantic ending as well, or at least let us see the real Asuka. Concentrating on her will allow us to see some pretty cool soccer matches as well, with her special move “Asuka turn” :3 sigh… Asuka deserves to be on the limelight! >__<

Mao is the one I like most among the girls so far. Her quirky and fun-loving personality, as well as her genuine desire to help out her childhood friend Kouichi makes her all thre more a loveable character. Given that, rest assured that this won’t have a School Days kind of dark plot and twist. We can see that her relationship with Kouichi won’t really go beyond friendship, since she has Kai! Though I still wonder what Mao’s intention was for coming all the way from France. o__O

That said, the pairing I also like most in the show is Kai and Mao! Aside from the fact that Kai is by far, the real stereotypical bishie in shoujo anime and mangas, I like how his personality isn’t all too complicated as I thought it would be. We can actually say that there is a bit of similarity between Kai and Eriko, in terms of being distant, but Kai is well, human and pretty normal still. And he plays the sax! Smexy~ Mao seems to be the first one who wasn’t intimidated with him, similar to how Kazuki was to Eriko, who had the guts to approach the ice princess.

I like how Mao was really frank with Kai, as she showed this little pout about being ignored by him Similar to how Mao’s opinion of Kai has changed as he learns more about him, Kai has also seen that Mao isn’t an annoying girl like most of the women he met I think. We’re going to see more Mao x Kai moments from here on, so I have faith that their love will be developed well with not much complexities at that. It’s okay to add some rivals here and there, if it will help develop the relationships more

Yuumi and Kouichi. The waffy dopey couple I usually don’t want to see in a typical harem anime setting, where the aggressive ones get to grab the guy instead. In KimiKiss however, it’s an entirely different story. Aside from the fact that Mao is ready to lend a hand in making Kouichi THE MAN for Yuumi, we already see how sparks fly between these two. A guy and a girl who never thought their feelings were mutual all along I’m such a sucker for destiny or fate-driven kind of romances :3

There’s just a bit of development flaw this couple is going to have, which I also felt in reading the novel. I’m dreading that the fact that they already have feelings for each other at this point will lessen the further developments we’re going to see. Though, allowing us to see more of these characters’ thoughts and feelings, with regards to what attracted them to each other will make us see how their love isn’t all that shallow. I’m thinking it will go along the lines of “what an ordinary guy like Kouichi found in an ordinary girl like Yuumi, and vice versa” Hmm… I wonder what role Kouichi’s dream of becoming a novelist will have in this development.

Seeing Yuumi delighted that Kouichi remembered her name was really cute. Hehe… they’re both lovestruck puppies Yuumi is even more in love with Kouichi from what I can see. Hope we can see more of Yuumi’s diary entries, since she’s always silent and not quite expressive of her feelings. I think Mao will be the type who can make her reveal much of her secrets :p

Another heroine the show hasn’t focused on: Mitsuki.

I’m not sure if Hiiragi’s going to turn into a more significant character later on, since he seems pretty… decided on his girl. I don’t see him as a guy with complexities in life as well, so I’m not sure what developments we will still see of this guy. I’m still waiting for Mitsuki’s accidental-kiss-by¬-the-stairs event, if that will ever happen here.

Kuma Beaammm. lame

I still found the lame gorilla vs bear fight scene amusing btw. LOL.

And hmm….

Hurray for no pantsu-shots!!
