Our Condolences, Ninomiya-kun Episode 3 – 街へでようよ (Let’s go to the Town!)

Omgz. Kamen no Maid Guy cameo appearance! LOL.
Decided to change the title because it seems to have scared off people LOL.
ROFL. Just when I referenced Kamen no Maid Guy in my episode 1 post, who would’ve thought he will actually make his appearance here in this episode! XDDD Man, this really made me laugh… unexpectedly so. This is the most amusing episode I’ve found so far, with all these parodies shown that I can actually relate to.
So this will be Kamen no Maid Guy’s first TV appearance, prior to his upcoming anime series airing sometime next year. You think I’m joking? think again.
Rest assured that you won’t be scarred as much as this episode of Ninomiya, because most of the characters there are real femme meidos (no traps), just like the one in the cover pic. For some reason however, I couldn’t stand much of the senseless fanservice in that manga, as opposed to Ninomiya. It’s more eccentric, wild, and nonsensical, in my opinion. Who knows, maybe the anime will be better.
Going back to the topic of Ninomiya. How did Kamen no Maid Guy come into the scene, you ask? Well, that’s all thanks to Reika and her scheme to torment Mayu after finding out about her androphobia.
We can’t really blame Reika for this, since her trivial problems in life have escalated beyond heights after she entered the Ninomiya household. Bearing the pain of being less endowed as opposed to moeblob Mayu (We’ve seen much of this BB vs BB fight in the last episode, with Mayu’s Big Boobs as opposed to her… Barely Boobs. LOL.), aside from the painstaking routine she has to go through everyday to fix up her hair. And worst of all, is the unbearable sight of Shungo and Mayu’s *ahem* “training”. Reika should rather be thankful because she was able to see much of Shungo’s “manliness” in that scene at the bath, thanks to this training :p
In any case, it became too unbearable for the tsundere Reika, making the audience face the horror of seeing horrible manservice (with buffy gay men in bunny suits in their engrish accent, meido costume, and cheongsam dress *shudder*) just to torment Mayu. yeah, and the audience gets tormented as well. Nice going Reika.

Hentaiii!!!! (Mayu’s reaction to all the manservice)
It was just too much for Mayu, who has even lower tolerance to these things than normal people. If not for Shungo who became the sacrificial lamb of these gay men, who knows what could’ve happened to her (probably commit hara-kiri) ^^;; This reminds me of that DMP employee who volunteered himself for the yaoi auction. How noble?
I remember Mayu asking if guys can become maids… well, actually, they certainly can. Like our Fate/Stay Night guys over here , especially the now-turned trap Gilgamesh.

Wtf. Gilgamesh has grown boobs!!
On The Karaoke Mama-san Gay Man

Cheongsam is only for SEXY people. NO BUFFS ALLOWED.
Moving a little out of the topic, I don’t know if they intended to make a parody of someone with the mama-san looking gay over here, who reminds me of Chad of Bleach and a little of Yujiro Hanma from Baki the Grappler (see pics below).

It must be the thick lips and buffness
On More Parodies
The best thing I found in this episode, is having discovered that succubus Mayu is actually… a manga otaku. Which actually led her to form a friendship with the Shungo-sexual-harassment-gang leader Ayakawa. yuri is in the air~ Ayakawa has seen through Mayu’s charms, which made her realize how hard it must be for Shungo to be living together with her. I’ve grown to like Ayakawa with this episode

A parody of mangas
Here comes some nice parody, or rather, a set of doujinshis which caught Mayu’s eye :3 The first one there, is a parody of Naruto. Uzushio, from “Uzumaki” LOL. Even the font style is the same. The second one is “Nerawareta Ace”, a parody on Ace wo Nerae (with the main lead girl turned into Pretear of some sort), and the third one “Te Live” is a parody of To Heart I believe. Rev and my fellow chef Seleria has pointed out that this “Te Live Ru” (I missed the “Ru” before) is supposedly a parody of “To Love Ru”, by the author of Black Cat. Engrish-wise, “To Love Ru” will be ToRabuRu (trouble), while “Te Live Ru” will be TeRibuRu (terrible). Hahaha. This show is certainly poking fun at how terrible it is.
And that Anan there at the back is parody of Nana, with the author Ai Yazawa as well. The original Ai Yazawa is 矢沢あい while the author of this Anan is 谷澤亜衣, also read as Ai Yazawa. Nifty

More parody. Needs Magnifying and a Keen eye.
Click on the pic for the magnified version.
A change in some angle will allow us to see more manga parodies, which avid manga fans will be able to spot. ^^;;; I did some photoshop tweaking to make it easier for people to see. It needs some magnifying to see the Japanese titles and authors though. There’s “Dame no Cantabile”, parody of Nodame Cantabile obviously, with a Ninomiya author as well. I can’t quite see the other characters for the name, but it most likely reads as “Tomoko”. The other manga I spotted is what seems to be a parody of Kaichou wa Maid-sama!, an interesting and fun shoujo manga :3 Rest assured, it’s not BL. My eyes aren’t that sharp to be able to figure out the other titles in the pic.
In celebration of their friendship, Ayakawa gives three mangas as present for Mayu. (1) The Nerawareta Ace Deluxe Edition, (2) Number 1 Taka(?), a parody of Attack No.1, and finally (3) a manga which made Mayu blush like a tomato. What was that manga? well, it was revealed before the episode ended…

A BL manga
It seems like a Yun Kouga, Kaimu Tachibana or Yukiru Sugisaki doujinshi for me. I don’t know what this is a parody of, since I’m not well-versed with BL mangas. No I’m not lying. I see a little “no Kakera” there in the title, but I don’t think that’s enough to pinpoint the original manga this is referring to. Rasen no Kakera perhaps? Though I’m not really familiar with that manga. Oh well.

Mayu, the innocent BL-loving succubus. Oh the irony.
Mayu goes running away from the teacher in the last scene because there’s going to be an items inspection, and she doesn’t want to be found out as a BL-loving student. Honestly, there should be nothing wrong with that. What’s illogical, is the fact that Mayu is so dumb when it comes to *ahem* certain things, when she seems to be exposed to much smut and yaoi. Could Mayu be simply playing dumb all along, and is just… enjoying all this with Shungo?
It seems like finding these parodies is what I found most enjoyable about this episode… probably because I can relate well with what was shown. Now that I think about it, I think me and Mayu will get along well with our same line of interests
Oh, and I’d like to say that the production quality has actually improved in this episode. We don’t see much of the distorted faces in episode 2. And we actually get an ending sequence this time!
Ending Song
The ending is sung by our very own Reika and Mayu, same with the opening song. It’s also a poppy and upbeat song, similar to the opening, but I feel more genki vibes from this one. It actually reminds me of the Lucky Star opening song. Either the pompom cheering or the similarity in the beat… and, voice echoes? lol. In any case, I love both the opening and ending songs X3 The scenes in the ending sequence is just too… bare See the nekkid Mayu and Reika x Shungo skinship there? I won’t be surprised if people are already being inspired by this anime to create fanfics and fanart with three-some (or n-some) scenes >.>

The seductive(?) Irori
And finally, we’ve seen a glimpse of yet another one who’s gonna add more suffering in the life of Ninomiya, the megane-girl. She’s quite the sly and aggressive type too, from what I’ve seen in the novel. Goshuushou-sama, Ninomiya-kun *bow*
EDIT: Looks like I missed a reference! According to Kurogane’s blog post on Episode 3, Ryouko was actually referring to the movie Saw when she was telling Shungo the punishment in store for him if he doesn’t take the training seriously. Nice. I’m amused by these little things lol.

My first post!!
Sorry for reading all of Kaze no Stigma, but really not post a little (I add your detail post of KnZ to my Fansub, Arigato Gousaimasu)
From “A parody of mangas” I have an answer of real Mangas
On the left “ANAN” means “NANA”
Next is “NARUTO”. Yes!
Next Nerawareta Ace maybe “Prine of Tennis” ,But not sure.
Next Te Live, It’s “ToLoveRu” or “Trouble” on japanese spell. (Manga from Mangaka of “Black Cat”)
@Rev: hehe… no problem, happy to see that my summaries are of use :p
as for the parody… I’m pretty sure the second one is a parody of Ace wo Nerae. As for the third, you are right about that ToLoveRu reference. My fellow chef Seleria has also pointed it out
ya but To Love Ru is not terrible at all, i love the manga it is good and very hilarious, it is also full of fanservice, that is why they make fun of it as well seeing as they are the same genre. Another thing i am quite disappointed by the quality of the show, it is too bad that this wasnt adapted by a good anime production, like KyoAni lol, then this series wouldve skyrocketed in popularity. The anime doesnt do justice to its novel.
Uh I just want to use your picture of Yujiro Hanma.
