Title: The Diary of Tortov Roddle
Scrumptious Meter: 3 (*burp*)
Length: 6 episodes
Tortov Roddle travels to different places on a pig with long spindly legs, encountering fascinating things from cities borne on the back of gigantic frogs to rabbit people and their nightly journey. His fantastic experiences are told in the animated short film, The Diary of Tortov Roddle (known in Japanese as Aru Tabibito no Nikki) which was selected as an entry to the 2004 Annecy International Animated Film Festival.

It is comprised of six two-minute long segments. The animation is somehow European in it’s feel. Though short, The Diary of Tortov Roddle provides a glimpse of a distant, dream-like world. My favorite would be the fifth segment “The Melancholy Rain” and the last one, “The Flower and the Lady”.
