Vampire Knight Anime… To Quench Your Bloodlust Thirst!
To all the bloodthirsty people who’ve been longing to see Vampire Knight animated, suffer no more for that wish has finally been granted! It’s been announced in the latest Lala magazine, with no definite schedule or cast as of now. Expect a star-studded cast if they’ll have the same seiyuus as the Drama CD, with Yui Horie as Yuuki, Mamoru Miyano as Zero, and Daisuke Kishio as Kaname, among others (side characters whose voices include Jun Fukuyama, Junichi Suwabe, Koyasu Takehito and Hoshi Souichiro +___+)

Synopsis
Vampire Knight primarily takes place in Cross Academy, a prestigious private school with an unusual class structure. The student body is divided into two classes: the Day Class, which is made up of ordinary students, and the Night Class, an elite group of ‘beautiful people.’ Unbeknownst to the majority of students, and even most of the staff, the Night Class is made up entirely of vampires. The heroine, Yuki Cross, is one of the few humans who knows the school’s secret. She serves as a Guardian, dedicated to maintaining the peaceful coexistence of the Day and Night Classes with her childhood friend Zero, who lost his parents to vampires at an early age.
Thoughts
Not long ago was the announcement of the Special A anime, and now Vampire Knight, which will look awesome in its animated form because of its vampiric goodness =3 Hurray for more shoujo mangas being animated! =P
As much as I’m delighted to hear this announcement, it makes me sad that other excellent shoujo mangas of Hakusensha (particularly those which have already ended) is yet to be seen in its animated form. There’s the wonderful and timeless classic romance of Cipher, whose manga I bought in Japanese and English just so I can make my brother and my friends read it, and also the awesome kickass action shoujo of Tokyo Crazy Paradise, which I have been proclaiming the BEST shoujo manga I’ve read LOL (mix of action, comedy, and romance~).
Objectively speaking, Vampire Knight isn’t really the most brilliant of a series. The visuals are great, but the plot has been dragged on for quite some time, and it’s not until recently that we find some developments again. I’m just worried how they’re going to handle the anime for this.
Ok, this turned out to be more of a rant post lol. Sorry for that. Reading the sentiments of some people in 2ch made me sympathize with them ^^;;; It’s actually from an objective standpoint.

I think its awsome that they are making all my fav mangas into animes like for example zombie loan, shugo chara , special A , and now Vampire knight..i just cant believe this hopefully it will be soon when they star airing..THANKS!!
I was expecting this to happen soon enough so I can’t say that I’m surprised. Almost all the girls that like manga are absolutely in LOVE with this series. I just hope this gets animated by a decent studio that won’t kill the series like um..GONZO -_-.
Geez, what a coincidence. I bought the first three volumes last week, finally finished them yesterday and wondered how well an anime adaptation would fare… until I remembered how rare shoujo adaptations were anyway, and this was an unusual one at that. Now I feel silly for thinking this.
I’m not far into the manga yet, but I suppose I’ll be looking forward to the adaptation anyway. I can’t think of which studio would be the best for this, though – maybe JC Staff for an atmosphere that may resemble Loveless’s? I’m really not sure.
@kiseki_gurl: I’m hoping they’ll be able to include Yuuki’s past in the anime, and not drag it to no end like the manga. Unveiling that will make this upcoming anime an awesome watch.

whoah! this is exciting news! although part of me is also apprehensive because if i expect too much i might end up disappointed. Vampire Knight has a bit of a gothic feel to it kinda like dgrayman.
@usagijen: was cipher scanslated before? wow i’d love to read that story. i’ve read its synopsis before but couldn’t find any scans because it’s licensed.*sigh*
Wow…I didn’t expect this at all ^^ I read some of the chapters in the past and I thought it was quite generic. Maybe the anime would be better. Any need which studio is doing it?
(Tokyo Crazy Paradise needs an anime!)
I’m interested to see how the Manga of Fabulous Hair translates to screen — I’m a big fan of this mangaka’s art style, so I hope whoever does it does a good job. I’m usually so bedazzled by the artwork that I cut the storyline some slack… Plus, you know, vampires. Big weakness for vampires in luuuuvvv. ^^
@beingmeyuki: I think we’ll be less apprehensive once the manga starts revealing Yuuki’s past, which is a MUST for the anime storyline.
@Ming: I’m still awaiting the some more info (or rumors) regarding the prospect studio for this… and yes, TCP needs an anime! \o/
@apex: yes, Hino Matsuri’s artwork is lovely~! but I’m not setting my expectations too high or it’ll result to disappointments >__<hoping for a good studio~~ I am weak against vampirezz as well, or any goth bishieness for that matter

I wasn’t really surprised that it was going to be animated, I was actually expecting it when the 5th or 6th volume came out.
I wonder how many episodes this anime will have an when it’s going to be released. Maybe Spring 2008? o.0

@Tomochii-Chan: with the 6 volumes that came out, there’s still not much development in the plot =__= As much as I want to see this animated, spring 2008 might be really “premature” for it. I want them to cover Yuuki’s past, at the very least. Or else the anime will just be a visual angst feast and nothing else =___=

I guess you’re right about the story being dragged along >_> Though the latest chapter…ehh yeah it didn’t say much about Yuuki’s past but something SURPRISING happens at least 8D

OMGSH ive been waiting for so long for this lmaooo i love the manga but then im trying not to put my hopes too high coz im not sure how good theyre gna turn the manga to anime…imean the way the manga is drawn is just amazing!

OMG i am so glad the anime is finally being made!!! I fell in love with the way vampire knight was written and portrayed and I hope they dont mess it up and make it all corny. A vampire anime needs to be done with the same air as the manga or else its completley different. Hopefully it’ll come to the US soon ’cause I personally cant wait!!!
i spazzed so much when i read about this on wikipeidia of all places that i broke my key board. yup to excited. i of course am calm now but still all to eager in waiting for the series which i hear will air in April. specific day unknown but we can only hope it will be soon. some of us people will literally die on this end from waiting for anything much longer. with all the plots in various series building up i dont know how much i can take. however im very happy with the animation thus far and can only say HUZZAH GIVE US SOME VK NOW! cus i need it. badly……hopefully the opening and ending songs are good. i thrive off those for odd reasons. anyway im all set and ready to download when the first episode hits the market!!!! i honestly all around cant wait. and boy does it hurt.
wow!! this is great i was so excited when I heard that special A was going to be animated and now one of my favorite manga series (also D. grayman and ludwig kakumei )vampire knight is also to be animated!!…I really cant wait…even thinking about what and how will they make the anime makes me excited…

Well, since Vampire Knight is getting animated…. I am hoping that my favorite manga of all time would get an anime. Fingers crossed for Skip Beat!

For the character drawings/designs in the anime, I’m not very impressed with Yuki, Zero, or Kaname. Especially Zero’s anime design. Dunno why, it just doesn’t send out that “Hawt Angsty Bishie Vampire” vibe 
Maybe it’s just the perspective they drew them in.. I seriously hope that’s the case. I love everyone else’s charrie designs, though.
I’m just scared to death that they’re going to royally screw this lovely manga over when they do the anime adaption, like they did with FullMetal Alchemist >3>;; Hopefully, though, we won’t be too disapponted.
@Christina: wow, I’d love to see Skip Beat animated! But hopefully, after it finishes. Though, in my opinion, Yoshiki Nakamura’s previous work Tokyo Crazy Paradise should be deserving of an anime. sigh… I wonder if that will ever happen =/

It’s too early to tell whether the anime will live up to the manga’s hawtness factor. I’ll reserve any judgments on that until I get to see at least an episode of this :3

O__O OMG are you sure that Koyasu Takehito will be in the cast? If so, who? I seriously can’t wait for this to come out now. The cast sounds so amazing already (MIYANO MAMORU=LOOOVE!!!).
unfortunately, Koyasu Takehito wasn’t casted for the anime. But this still has a star-studded seiyuu cast, nonetheless =D

i think that kuran voice should be played by Alessandro Juliani. the same guy who played “L” ’s voicein death note! i think it’d be perfect
well i think that we don’t share the same views for shoujos because cypher is a so called shoujo and tokyo crazy paradise gets on my nerves i find it so boring
but vampire knight is the best
as for the anime the picture is not sucess i prefer the mangas for the moment maybe i will change my view

@nounou: Cipher is slice-of-life shoujo, so I can understand if you’ll find that boring. It’s still a great manga, in my opinion, because you get to see the development of the characters, and all that. For Tokyo Crazy Paradise however… how could an action packed shoujo be boring?!
oh well, to each his own. perhaps you prefer manga with angst and drama, like VK :p
as for the anime character designs, it’s good in my opinion, though I’m a little apprehensive of the wya Zero looks like… hope that changes once the anime airs.

when is it going to be aired in the U.S., i cant watch another series in japanese, with english subtitles(naruto), its to frustrating when i see what they changed in it when they translated it, so if i dont watch it in japanese, with english subtitles, i wont have to worry about that.

Alright I agree Zero and Yuuki would probably be the better couple but come on now how can you possibly hate Kaname? His attitude might leave something to desire but at the same time it’s thrilling. But either way they are both vampires so I luv them both.

OMG! That anime was so awesome, definitely captivating. I think both couples are good together; Yuki and Zero / Yuki and Kaname. I mean they are both vampires and they both care about Yuki. Anywayz, I luv Vampire Knight! It’s the best.

Hey I watched the anime and it was a all around treat I didn’t Know what was comeing up next It kept me to the edge of my seat I am sad that I watched the whole thing and Now I have Nothing to wonder like why is Kaname Senpia So involed with Yukki so hope u enjoy it oh one thing it’s now an anime but It’s in japanese so watch it on youtube
