Shugo Chara Episode 8 - 「君の瞳に恋してるっ！」(I Fell in Love With Your Eyes)

The true SPICE girl Misaki appears in this episode, teaming up with the COOL and SPICY Amu for the quest to win Prince Tadase’s heart, despite being rivals in love~ This girl is overflowing with cheerfulness and optimism that Amu gets infected by her genkiness, as she tags along her plans. Unlike Amu who knows nothing about her beloved prince, Misaki knows Tadase’s complete profile, aside from his Shugo Chara persona. We also find out that there’s a Tadase fanclub in their school, a Hibari Four-like gang, headed by the obnoxious Saya Yamabuki.

Pick the gay odd one out.

Saya, however, proves to be of no match against their ultimate rival for the prince’s heart, no other than Nadeshiko LOL. (If only Misaki knew who Nadeshiko really is).

But Misaki remains confident, because she has gained the approval of the prince, who praised her cheerfulness one fateful encounter with a backdrop heartsy sun <3 lol

As Amu and Misaki finds out about a charm to get the man of their dreams, they set out in search for the prince and get his autograph. Misaki however goes all dere-dere and calls Tadase “ouji” without knowing the consequence of her actions, leading to a little mess Amu cleans up afterwards, to prevent the entire school from finding out his WORLD DOMINATION schemes ^^;;; Misaki gets separated from Amu because of this little mishap, and loses her genkiness as she overhears the conversation between Tadase and Nadeshiko. Tadase was confiding about not liking his overly hyper self, but Misaki mistakes it as hating her overly cheerful character, which makes her a prey of the evil egg~!

Misaki simply wants to be a bride~

After the “X Chara Battle” break last week, Shugo Chara resumes its regular programming as we witness Amu and Tadase’s fight against the veiled X-Chara lol. All’s well that ends well, as love once again conquers all~ The X-Chara unveils itself (literally), and hands Amu a bouquet of flowers. Aww Cute~ And of course, Amu gives her obligatory speech, about how that she likes Misaki’s cheerfulness :3

With everything back to normal, Misaki is in high spirits once again, and before we know it, one fateful encounter with Kuukai (a déjà vu, I might say) was enough for her to set his eyes on him, completely forgetting about Tadase. Her next target rival: Yaya. Sadly, the episode ends before we get to see how she deals with Yaya

Since this is our usual dose of filet-o-filler^TM episode with Embryo stuffing, we get to see more of the organization in the middle of the episode, as we find out Utau’s goal of making Ikuto’s desire come true, and Ikuto’s indifference towards her. Only Amu can make Ikuto’s heart skip a beat~ =P

Thoughts

This must be the first of the anime originals that doesn’t feature a hesitant and troubled Amu, which is all great because that’s what she was made out to be, COOL and SPICY! And we have another poser character in this episode! A much more genki and SPICY poser :p Too bad Misaki is only a guest character, I would love to see more of her in other episodes! Unlike Yaya, I didn’t find her genkiness annoying, and with just one episode, she managed to tickle my heart lol.

One thing I noticed in Shugo Chara, even in the manga, is how useless Yuu’s Embryo-searching tactics are. He just waits for a depressed kid to appear, then ascertain whether he / she holds the Embryo, which is pointless given the fact that its owner (or the one who’ll eventually have it) will most likely be a special kid, and not just a random depressed side character. But then again the big bad guys in this series weren’t made out to be aware of that plot device =P That one chapter in the manga which features Yuu forcibly taking out the eggs of the kids (uhm, that didn’t sound quite right) make much more sense, which I don’t think will be shown till past episode 10.

Next episode: Amu-chi heads to Nadeshiko’s house and discovers its “Seven Mysteries”, one of which should be the mystery of Nadeshiko’s identity =P I’m not sure if they’ll reveal that, but seeing Amu’s flustered face in the preview might just be a hint that they’re going to reveal this sooner or later. And *ahem* Amu seems to be the only one invited to Nadeshiko’s house… so, we’ll never know what might happen next week~
