I think I’ve been bitten by the lazy blog bug, as I found myself spending more time with my PSP than ever before… hence the delay of this post >.> Have to get my blogging drive back in the coming weeks, and finish up more of my supposedly planned posts~!

Now for this episode of KimiKiss, we finally see the series taking the childhood friends turn romantic couple direction, though the final outcome of this remains to be seen. I’ll be happy with whoever they pair-up actually, so long as they give the relationship depth and/or development~ With more than 10 episodes to go, everything is possible. I just hope it won’t be a not-so-mature melodramatic ride like Marmalade Boy.

Thoughts of Mao > Yuumi? hmmm

No wonder I’ve been filled with doubts regarding Mao’s actions in the past episodes. I may have dismissed (or pretended to) that Mao has special feelings for Kouichi, but the thought of this possibility has long been lingering at the back of my mind. I’m not particularly rooting for Mao x Kouichi, but I find this little piece of information to give justification to Mao’s confusion. Again, I think this episode makes it clear that Kouichi is what motivated Mao to come back from France, as I recall the expression she had in episode 1 when he asked her about this, though we still don’t know what happened in her life back then.

From what I see, Kouichi also feels the same way about Mao, though he hasn’t realized it himself. I’m not particularly rooting for Kouichi x Mao, but I really think the “bond” these two share are far deeper than any of the couples or would-be couples in this series. They have spent almost their entire lifetime together, and know each other far more than anyone else. Both of them are most comfortable around each other (yeah, I know, because they’re childhood friends), allowing them to express their true selves. The possibility of a romantic development between these two largely depends on Kouichi, who’s gonna have to choose between Mao-nee and his girlfriend, Yuumi.

The ideal kind of love is founded in friendship, a deep and lasting friendship, which is one of the strongest points of the Kouichi x Mao pairing, especially when compared to Kouichi x Yuumi’s crush/infatuation/puppy love-like relationship.

I am quite torn apart between wanting Mao to end up with either Kouichi or Kai, because I like Kai nonetheless. In an objective POV however, especially with the stuff I mentioned about the strength of the Kouichi x Mao pairing, Kai x Mao seem… inferior. Oh well, it might be a good thing if Kai will be paired up with someone else, since he deserves someone who will truly love him back. And who knows, they might just pair up Kai and Mitsuki, though it doesn’t seem possible at this point.

Eriko x Asuka FTW =P (Who cares about Kazuki?!)

Thanks to Asuka, Eriko has learned a valuable lesson in this episode, that there are things in this world which cannot be governed by logic. With this, she learns to accept that not everything mentioned in books and such intellectual resources are absolute. Life is far more complicated than that, and you won’t get to see more of its complexities and endless possibilities, unless you actually strive to experience it yourself.

Hurray for more Eriko x Asuka! =P Am I the only one guilty of looking forward to their scenes, far more than Eriko x Kazuki nor Asuka x Kazuki even? Kazuki might be the one who took the courage to have Eriko restart the experiment, but it’s clear that Asuka is the one giving her the real answers to the simple things which continue to perplex her over-complicated mind.

Next week’s episode preview shows us that Mao is finally going to confide about her feelings for Kouichi to Kai… hmmm~ I see a Kouichi x Kai confrontation here. Can’t wait~! >3

What are you playing on the PSP? I recommend Brave Story!

Anyway, Kouichi is a wimp. Ok all the guys except for Udon Jiji are huge wimps.

I’m not quite fond of Mao x Kouichi myself.

From the previews you’ve given, I think I need to watch the new episode. *runs off*

Alright power to ErikoxAsuka :). Honestly have been enjoying the time those two spend together. Pretty interesting watching them go at it. Both are really willing to express their views and not back down easily.

Kazuki could learn something in not always playing a softer side in order to not get Eriko upset. Especially the part after she went and won. Instead of being really serious he seemed to back off and play the whole situation in a light hearted way.

Still I guess he did try to win the day for Asuka who obviously was hurting. Sometimes the guy would actually pull it off…in this case he tumbles and gets disqualified heh. But anyways I want to talk with the people in charge. I don’t care how skilled Asuka is. If someone is literally limping over there I’m surprised they let her participate.

Now with the Mao saga. Things are at least getting complicated. Seeing more about Mao’s feelings for Kouichi. I would be more along with Mao and Kai if I felt she thought of him that way.

Next episode should be an interesting one though.

@tj: I’m still finishing Tales of Phantasia on my PSP, and this otome game I have lol. I’ll go and play Brave Story next time… gonna expand my memory card! \o/

Well Kouichi and Kazuki are the wimps. Hiiragi doesn’t quite fall under this category, though we’ve seen too little of him to ascertain this.

@Alyssa: I actually find Kouichi x Mao cute now… but what I don’t like is how they made it seem like Mao was falling for Kai in the earlier episodes. Some inconsistencies, which lacked a little ’something’ for a better transition…

@FlareKnight: yeah, I actually liked how Kazuki was concerned about Asuka, despite how he wasn’t able to live up to what he said. hehe =3

with Mao x Kai x Kouichi… I actually want to forget the earlier episodes where Mao seemed to be falling for Kai, because they seemed to have disregarded that aspect in the recent ‘transition’

I read Mao’s feelings for Kouichi as more a not wanting to let go of her childhood friend to another girl (read: jealousy of a friend) rather than love; at least, if it’s love, I don’t think she’s ever acknowledged it as such, which allows for her uncertain attraction to Kai. A lot of others have cited Mao’s rejection of Kai’s kiss as proof that she doesn’t like him that way, but I think it could just as easily be that she was not yet prepared to get into a serious relationship (it’s pretty evident she’s never had one before); she just needs time. But I’m rooting for Kai X Mao and Kouichi X Yuumi, so I’m a bit biased ^^;

(Anyway, I’d be pretty pissed if Kouichi dumped Yuumi after finally starting to get to know her after pining over her for so long. He and Yuumi seem a better fit to me.)

Kouichi and Mao. Both of them not to realize own feelling.

But at end of this episode, Mao realize her feelling to Kouichi not “Her’s little brother” anymore.

Mao’s feeling is also clear on episode 10 (Ah! I’ve already watch it!)

@Senna: that’s what I was thinking, until episode 10! Mao’s feelings seem pretty clear there… As for Kouichi x Yuumi, Yuumi’s inevitable problem might, or might not force the relationship to change…
