Shugo Chara - 10 “Amu vs Utau Desuu~”
The “climax” of the Amu x Ikuto scene, followed by an anticlimax… =__=”’
So we finally have more Ikuto screentime in this episode. Hurray? Not quite so. I was about to scream in delight in Ikuto’s surprise visit scene, only to end up sighing in sadness, for the moment was cut short. We miss the smutty Ikuto! >___< The animators already took the painstaking(?) effort to have him visit Amu, so how come they didn’t make the most out of the moment?! :| Ok, time to stop being tsuntsun and go back to my rational self.
This was such a Suu-centric episode desuu~ Almost the entire episode was spent on her lost adventures, after some Christmas decoration shopping mishap, thanks to Yoru’s mischief.
Wow… talk about some new uses of a beater.
Thanks to her magical beater, she finds her way out of the labyrinth and gains a dog friend! ^^;;;
The main highlight of this episode would have to be the Amu x Ikuto & Utau confrontation, where Amu chara-nari with Suu for the first time (out of pity?), as the rivals in Ikuto’s love and Embryo finally meet face-to-face. This little scene as well as Ikuto’s recent emo-ness is nothing but a prelude to the coming episodes, particularly episode 13, which is most likely why they decided not show his smutty side first.

And hmm… is the anime staff so fond of Suzuki that he appears in almost every episode? Admittedly, I enjoy seeing the scenes with this fanboy, but still… Ikuto deserves that screentime! We see him reunited with his dog at the end of this episode, like how “Dog of Flanders” would’ve been if it had a happy ending lol.
This episode marks the first of the series of holiday “specials” they’ll be airing in the coming weeks, but they’re not entirely fillers. They just decided to add some holiday twist to the manga chapters, whose order has now been jumbled up. Next week’s episode is like the manga beach chapter counterpart (3rd chapter of volume 2), while episode 13 covers the 2nd chapter of volume 2. Episode 12 on the other hand simply extracts about 3-5% of the manga, the part where Amu finds out that Utau is a famous singer. It also mentions of an encounter with someone at the park, and I am crossing my fingers that this is referring to Ikuto (playing his violin).

Apropos of very little, Amu and Ikuto’s hair looks good together. Nice blue. Nice pink.
I’ve always had the passing thought that OTP couples in anime are designed to blend well together palette-wise — some contrast, but ultimately harmonious. Before I get contradicted, I’ll admit that I’m too lazy to examine this hypothesis exhaustively, so your mileage may vary. ^_^
I was glad to read that we are finally (somewhat) getting back on track with the manga. So by the summary of Episode 12, we have the potential violin scene, and Episode 13 hints at Utau’s concert where -someone- does a Character Become.. hopefully. The spoilers certainly hint at it, but they were so vague that anything could happen >.
How did you noe all of that? Where did you find out about all the up coming episodes? The next epi, seems to be a fun epi, but too bad o Ikuto or Utau. I really look forward to more Utau. Too bad this week never touch on the fact that Utau is jealous or something. (or did it? I couldn’t nderstand watt hey were saying) But the two upcoming pis seems to be extra exciting though. I seriously look forward to them!!!! >.

Seriously i am going to stop watching this episode… i don’t find it any interesting at all…or its just me? I am more romantic person, who don’t like to watch cold-hearted people…baaah…. i have enough of that in Naruto :)) at least there is some humor in it…. and bad-ass fight scenes

And I don’t remember the smutty scene you’re referring to that they cut off o.0 And, is the anime going to show the vacation thing?? Where Amu and them go to…uuh this place…XD Yeah I can’t remember…
But damnit…this is what I hate about shoujo animes, they sometimes screw up the order or storyline DX
‘Just saw this episode today, and I loved it! Su’s transformation with Amu was very nice, and there was finally different music! 8D But I really want to see more Ikuto and Amu!!

For the record, since I’m the ONLY sane person when it comes to this show…Amu is damn annoying!! She steals all the credit, inadvertantly makes EVERYTHING about her, and then feels the need to lecture people with X Eggs before she purifies them. She has NO room to talk, and Amuto fans need the face the facts that a teenager and elementary school student should NOT hook up. If all the girls love Ikuto so much, wouldn’t you want something BETTER for him than some idiotic, whiney brat? Kukai’s too good for Amu, Ikuto is WAY out of her league, and Tadase doesn’t even really know what he wants anymore. Get over your fangirling over someone who is clueless and bratty.
