Deep Frying Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de 01-02 “Addl LOL from the manga”

Boy is that such a long title… that’s gonna be the first and last I’m gonna use the complete title of KimiAru >_>”’

KimiAru is one of the shows I’ve been “silently” looking forward to in the Winter 2008 lineup, amused as I am when I read the manga a few months back. The anime adaptation does not disappoint. It manages to be amusing despite its random craziness, and I think knowing nothing about Hayate no Gotoku, with which this show is highly compared to, adds to that overall enjoyment. With the rather bold themes presented in the show, all for the sake of fanservice for the guys, I found a saving grace in Ren, whose quirky expressions and antics make me go LOL most of the time, thanks to his seiyuu SekiTomo who fits his role perfectly.

The manga is toned-down in most aspects, and with the 2 chapters I read, I have yet to see a lesbo yuri-esque sister-loving Shinra-sama o___O The lesbo yuri-esque Shinra-sama was only shown in chapter 3. It also has extra LOL moments, which could’ve been an amusing watch. I was already imagining this scene with Ren professing to being a siscon, with SekiTomo’s voice, a bit disappointed to find out that it wasn’t in the anime =/

For the benefit of those who want to see what I’m talking about, here goes my deep frying~ :3

DISCLAIMER: Unlike my usual deep frying posts, this one is just meant to add some humor spice to what has been shown in the anime. I know that both the anime and manga are adaptations of the H-game, which I don’t have a single intention of playing, so I wouldn’t know which among these two is more faithful to its predecessor :P

an omitted fanservice scene! can you believe it?!

Whilst some other shows sucked the life out of a decent manga to leave nothing much but traces of fanservice, the KimiAru anime decides to take away some fanservicey scenes, like this one, with Penis Venice, due to changes they made in the sequence of events. The anime opted for a bolder and a bit shocking kind of fanservice instead.

Ren’s first encounter with Venice was during his job hunting, where he accidentally bumps into her and spills her drink, leading to the wet scene we now see in this pic.

Venice accuses him of being a pervert of course, and Ren explains his side by proudly professing that he’s a siscon, which simply means that he doesn’t have the least bit interest in her xD

In the second day of Ren and Mihato’s job hunting, they meet Yume by chance, who seemed to be a random lost girl in the garden. She leaves after learning some tips from Ren on how to best enjoy eating ramen, without noticing that she dropped her handbag. Mihato follows after her to return this, then Miyu appears into the scene looking for her sister (Yume). Miyu gets pissed after noticing how Ren was assuming a smaller kid to be her little sister, and he tries to appease her by patting her on the head while addressing her as “ojouchan”, clueless as to why she got pissed in the first place. His kiddie treatment of Miyu finally earns him a good slap, but this doesn’t stop him from showing his moxie, as he carries her all the way to her house after she faints. Ren finds Mihato in the same house, as she followed Yume earlier, and they rejoice in their reunion. Venice however is not too happy to see Ren, remembering their distasteful first encounter. Before chapter 1 ends, Shinra shows up, and offers Ren and Mihato to become her servants.

Chapter 2 begins with a fuming Venice who’s completely against the idea of employing the two siblings, referring to Ren as a violent pervert, and Mihato as a dumb-looking “Pollyanna” lol. Ren couldn’t take the insult against her Hatonee of course, and grabs Venice by the collar, until Taisa intercedes in their fight by kicking his butt. Ren was about to fight back, but Hatonee stops him cold with an evil glare.Ren is more… violent and un-gentleman in the manga D:

And this is how Ren met Chiharu the trap. Ren finds him scrubbing the floor and decides to help him out (similar to the scene in episode 2). Ren is amused that almost all the people in the house are girls, until Chiharu bursts his bubble and tells him “I’m a guy~ just call me Haru~” with that cutesy look. He even asks Ren if he can call him “Ren-nii~” since he has always wanted to a brother loool xDDD

and this is the epic butler fight shown in the manga. It wasn’t all random unlike that in the anime. Ren wanted revenge for his “defeat” in his fight against Taisa, cut short earlier because of Mihato’s intercession. It wasn’t as ambitious and as crazy as the anime-version (there’s no Shining Darkness Finger, for example lol). Instead, we see the moustache-OC (I wonder if there’s such a term) butler.

the outcome of the battle? this…

…poor Ren loool.

P.S. Despite how I enjoy watching KimiAru atm, I believe this will just be short-lived, as I will most likely realize that I am better off watching something else with the limited time I have, something that’s not as nonsensical as this ^^;;; I guess I’ll just randomly pop-out when I see something interesting in the manga. I just read chapter 3 and it isn’t as amusing as the previous two chapters, sadly =/

  1. I have to admit i’ve been cautious over this series. I picked up Hayate when it started, and initially liked it. But it decended into lunacy after a while. Since this series is being billed as similar as Hayate, it took me a while to watch it.

While i enjoyed the first episode, worrying about if it’ll follow Hayatre into lunacy has dulled my enjoyment of it.

Have to agree with you about Rosario aswell, the manga is awesome and i love it. I was devestated to find they’re going to try and cram it into 13 episodes. While the fanservice isn’t to bad IMO, it’s just one of several elements that have conspired to ruin the series. Another being that stupid little yellow bat *wants to take a baseball bat to that yellow bat*

  3. Just to make sure, usagijen - you DO know that KimiAru isn’t based on a manga (which is just another spinoff), but on a game, right? :)

  4. @Tiamat’s Disciple: it’s one of my lesser priority watch, as with most pure comedy series for that matter

@Mentar: yes, I know xD I was supposed to place a disclaimer somewhere in my post… that I don’t really know what happened in the original game, so I don’t know which among the two adaptations are more faithful to it, but I somehow forgot lol. I guess I’ll go add that to my post now.

  5. Well, I hope you’ll stick around and continue to share your thoughts ^_^

It’s the usual crazy interactions between crazy characters which is typical for the storywriter. Aaaand (which makes the show precious to me) it’s extremely likely that a perfect stranger true ojousama character takes the cake in a full conclusion, without nonsense like childhood promises and such. Or rather the other way round: Where the male lead manages to fight his way through.

    Enjoy the fireworks!

  6. @Mentar: As much as I want to, I don’t think my creative juices is enough to make me churn out constant posts for this show… I’m gonna need some inspiration from Hinano lol.
