As I am still in the process of finishing my thoughts and babbling on KimiKiss episode 14 (gawd I think too much x__x), I’m gonna take a short break and plug about this COOL and SPICY news first.
Given the popularity of Shugo Chara in Japan (and in all other countries across the globe, for that matter), it is of no surprise that we’ll finally be seeing a Shugo Chara game for the DS, this coming March 13, 2008. I’ve already mentioned about this possibility, way back November, and I think my “wish” was more or less, fulfilled. Quoting what I said, in my Shugo Chara Hype post:
“Aside from these novelty items, I can already see a Shugo Chara console game coming out sometime soon from Konami, hopefully an RPG-ish otome game =P”
Based on the screenshots and info I’ve seen, this is going to be an otome adventure game where you play as Amu, fight off X-enemies, save kids from falling into despair, *ahem* have some rabu rabu with the guys, and UNLOCK their endings. I like the tagline of the game, Kare no HAATO, LOCK ON! (<enter guy’s name over here>’s heart, LOCK ON!) :3 Perhaps you can also have a friend-ending with the other characters, but of course that’d be less exciting 
I wonder if there’s a Yuu Nikaido-love ending… o__O
This is of course great news for us fangirls, since we’ll get to see more Amu x Ikuto rabu rabu (even Amu x Tadase and Amu x Kuukai, for their respective fans)~!! *^-^* I just wish they’d release a game for other platforms as well (PSP, PS2 or Wii), so we’ll see more yummy eyecandies :3 If they follow the footsteps of evil Koei, they can also release a game illustrations book after, together with heaps of other goodies (like Amu x Ikuto centric Drama CDs >3).

there is a drama cd for amu and ikuto?
It looks like the game is all hiragana and katakana, which means I can understand it. My DS is going to be COOLxSPICY this March!
I wonder if this’ll come in america I want it :3

OMG lame….now I wish I had a DS!
I want to buy that so bad, but if i want to be able to read japanese does that mean I’ll need to be able to speak and understand it as well?

even if this doesn’t come out in english i swear, i will either learn japanese or hire a damn translator.

school sucks! they teach every !?$ing language except Japanese! and Japanese would be more useful to me than english! i am perfectly capable of speaking “Proper English” whenever i need 2! *throws darts at picture of school*
If it does come out on cartoon network then i’ll be a little happy and mad because they might ruin the voices like they did with naruto and change the OP and ED.

it won’t be too late to study that now hehe. In any case, you can just blindly follow the game and look at the images without understanding anything. I’ve seen myself do that a few times before lol.

@clarissa: Hmm, I’m pretty doubtful that they’ll port this game to English, unless Shugo Chara gets to become as mainstream as, say, Pokemon, YuGiOh or what o_O

Okay. To all shugo chara intrested people. IF you like rping then you’ll join me and the rest of my friends in roleplaying as shugo chara characters. I’m not pushing you either. We *AREN’T* Illiterate either. So, Think about it if you wanna.
for those who have the game,go to the telephone cbine then type 7215 . you will unlock nagehiko.
I am unsure of my progress through this game since there is no English discussion or walkthrough (Nikaido just arrived), but so far the game tried to adhere to the anime. There are anime stills for key moments, Amu’s “kyaa!” and Ikuto’s “hmmm~”, though not enough story for someone unfamiliar with Shugo Chara to fully understand the presence of the Humpty Key and other elements (although arguably the majority of players will be fans already).
The gameplay seems designed for young girls who are novices at gaming. There are detailed instructions (mostly given by a very genki Ran) for things like inventory. The mini-games of getting more genki/coolness/girliness and the mini-game of capturing X-eggs are simple in concept and fairly easy to execute without a full knowledge of Japanese.
I realize this review is premature and incomplete because I’m still at its beginning, but so far the gameplay seems based on routines (not dissimilar from another popular kids/girl game, Harvest Moon): Amu wakes up, plays a game for her stats, runs around afterschool for possible cutscenes, captures a X-egg, and wakes up again the next morning.

he would be second best for Amu after Ikuto.
Maybe later on they will do one with choices of Nagehiko and Kairi added?

I’m with you Amy :D…I’m gonna get the game without knowing any japanese. But I think it is worth it for the possible viewings of Amu X Ikuto moments. And a Japanese dictionary in my hand.
I see ^^ I play this game too (I downloaded it) but problem is I can’t exactly understand everything as I’m not pure japanese ><

@kaedemirumo: you shouldn’t really be pure japanese to understand it lol. Having a dictionary for reference will be a good way to get a grasp of the dialogues in the game, plus some patience and perseverance too.

Aww, I hope they sell this game in my country.. I don’t mind if it’s in japanese, cause I can read and understand a little.. I so want a DS now!!

There is kanji in the dialogue but the hiragana/katakana is in brackets next to the word…eg：愛（あい）and so fourth….
Every fan girl of this anime, or fan boy for that matter should get this game…Im not far yet but I already love it!!

Yay! Me have the game! It imported from Japan last night! It’s kinda boring and kinda fun. MY OPINION. Buy the game and find out because I don’t wanna spoil people for what happens in the game. Teehee! ^-^ It is funn though!
