I was initially going to set aside this post, but my love for Noe made me persist to finish this one.
Until the last episode, I was ready to run up my white flag for a Shin x Noe ending, which resulted to my bittersweet Noe-moing. This episode, however, brought a faint hope of that ending with Shin. Whether this was made to give Noe fans a sense of false hope, we’ll see next week. Damn that cliffhanger! >_<
While people are contending whether Shin's reminiscence of Noe are simply out of guilt, or a genuine love, I'll express my opinion about the latter's possibility.
“You never realize the value of something until it’s gone”, might explain what Shin is feeling right now. It was, after all, Noe who stood by him during the times when he was down and depressed. When he was all confused about what to do with his life, especially after Hiromi revealed that they are siblings, which turned out to be nothing else but a fallacy. Noe loved Shin dearly, and when he confessed that he liked her, she genuinely believed in his words. No questions asked.
If there was any fault with Noe, it’s that she became too trusting; She bought Shin’s confession, despite knowing that part of his heart belongs to Hiromi, from the very start. And that cost her dearly. She’s now having an emotional breakdown, because of the pain and hurt caused by loving and trusting Shin. But emoe Noe still remains selfless and admirable as ever. Despite being a victim of this circumstance, she blames no one, not even Shin who gave her a sense of false hope.
I refuse to consider Noe as crazy at this point, she still hasn’t lost it, mind you. She’s been a little eccentric from the beginning, so seeing her take Jibeta for the flight of her life doesn’t freak me out. She’s trying to run away from all the pain she’s feeling right now, yes, but not to the point of being suicidal or being a chicken murderer. Her last words about Hiromi being the person in Shin’s heart shows that she’s on the verge of fully accepting this painful fact, a step towards being able to move on with her life. I have full faith in Noe, that she’ll be able to recover from all this by the next episode. Ganbareeeee Noe!!! ;____; If Shin will end up with Noe, I hope the next episode will show us that he genuinely loves her, that the brief time they spent together meant more to him than anything else. If Shin decides to “love” Noe out of pity, he’ll incur my wrath >E
And btw, the Shin->Hiromi hug in episode 10 is more than just a hug. It spoke a thousand words about Shin’s true feelings. The wall of lies that Shin built crumbled down in that instant. That scene didn’t make Noe jealous (someone else is filled with that emotion), it was more a painful slap of reality for her. Noe had too much trust, while Hiromi lacks it. Hiromi has to rid herself of doubts and learn to trust, in order for her relationship with Shin work. If there’s something bugging her, she should say so, confront Shin, and not keep things to herself =___=”’
It just pains me to see that people are now referring to Noe as a crazy or demented girl, after her emotionally depressed state in this episode. You people have no heart! Calling Noe crazy shows how lacking you are in sensing the depths of her magokoro. Shame on you. Consider yourself one of those people spreading false rumors on Noe (refer to what Jun said in episode 8), those who shun her for her eccentricity T__T
While some of you have probably disowned Noe in her emotionally depressed state, I stand by her through thick and thin. rawr >E
As for episode 12, the spoiler mentioned that he’ll come into terms with his TRUE SELF, so we’ll see whether he chooses Hiromi or Noe.
I don’t really have much to say about Aiko and Nobuse, I’m just happy for those two

Whichever girl Shin stays with it has to be for the right reasons for True Tears to be remembered as a wonderful Anime series.
It would be so sad if it ends up being remembered as ‘less than the sum of its parts’ (as was ‘Myself; Yourself’).
Geez who have been calling Noe crazy or demented? While Noe has been silly and driving Shin up the wall the first few episodes, it’s more likely due to chilidsh and innocent nature.
As for what’s happening to her how, she’s actually doing very well holding out while things need to be sorted out. She looks ready to let Shin go should he choose Hiromi instead. Speaking of which, he’d better ask himself who he really loves. If you ask me though, I agree with Noe - Hiromi is the one in his heart. He just doesn’t see it clearly yet, being confused by what he feels towards Noe, which if you ask me, was an act of desparation after being led to believe he and Hiromi were siblings (i.e. Noe was just a substitute for Hiromi if he couldn’t have the latter).
Lol I totally agree.
Whatever happens, Noe will always be the first character I think of whenever True Tears is mentioned.

“It would be so sad if it ends up being remembered as ‘less than the sum of its parts’ (as was ‘Myself; Yourself’).”
I would have to agree with you there. Everyone had problems except for little cute Aoi-chan.
Anyways, about Shin. He is finally realizing what is in front of him now that his mind is almost clear, but he sure does do it at precise moments…such as that kiss from Himori. He was thinking about Noe during all that, but it could be guilt as he still needs to “do things right”. And we also get real close to who’s True Tears will start to pour out in which I believe it would be with Noe weather it is out of happiness, sadness, possibly a whole mixture a feelings. Just thinking about Noe cry already sets me up. But yes, I hope Shin will choose the right girl for the right reasons.
Noe is definitely crazy, but not really any crazier than she was at the start of the show. I think the difference is that she was happy and crazy then, and now she is sad and crazy.
You bring up an interesting point about Noe not telling Shinichiro how she feels. Every other time in the series Noe had no problem being exceptionally blunt, but all the sudden she can’t show her true feelings to Shinichiro.
Never despair Comrade! Noe will get her happy ending we must believe until the bitter end when Noe cries for her new found happiness for the first time. Our glorious Noe may yet be broken but she is far from defeated. Shin-chan will surely see what mistake it was to leave Noe’s good graces.
The traitors who have abandoned Noe shall burn in Harem Hell where the girls are all Fuuko and and the possibility of Itou Makoto Death is merely one misstep in wrong direction away.
Noe will be happy again! Noe is Moe. Sieg Noe!
You might not understand this since you’re a girl, but Shin has a complex that is not that uncommon within guys.
He’s attracted to another person’s sadness. He has been building this fantasy of wanting to be there for someone and taking their sadness away. Not only that, he’s quite deep into his obsession as you can tell by how melodramatic he is about it in his diary.
He’s not in love with someone. He’s in love with the idea of helping someone. And that’s different.
I personally don’t mind that in itself, but what I fear is the show going the into the pity contest route.
@strichone and Dando008: let’s all hope for the best
@Sailor Enlil: look around the blogosphere and you’ll see that most people refer to Noe as demented
In any case, I agree, Shin has to be rid of his doubts, same with Hiromi. That way, they can really be happy.
@Kabitzin: nuuuu… Noe is not crazy D: but oh well if that’s what you wanna call her eccentricity :p
as for Noe not telling her true feelings, hmm… I was actually referring to Hiromi in my post, but then again I did think of Noe and her decision to lock herself up from the rest of the world. The impact of the heartbreak was that great, considering how she thought she already found solace in Shin and all =/
@Crusader: aye aye, cap’n Crusader!
I’m keeping my faith in Noe’s happiness, oh don’t screw up now True Tears!
@T_I: hehe, I’ve been thinking about that for quite some time now, and even discussed it with my close friends, about a guy’s tendency to want to become a ‘knight in shining armor’ for a girl, become her hero… but all in all, I guess it’s because of that underlying desire to want to be deemed worthy by the girl, for her to love the guy
As for Shin’s ‘love’ for Hiromi, at first I actually thought that perhaps he’s just in love with this image he has of Hiromi, and is just driven by this inner desire to rid herself of those tears. In any case, I hope the next episode will clear all this up, who Shin really love, in the truest sense of the word.
Well have to tell you that Noe will bag Shinichiro at the end of this series. There are already hints it is more like the other anime Kimikiss going through (Hoshino figuring out what Kouchi really have in his heart and that is Mao.), how Hiromi discovers Shin’s true heart and where it lies (discovering the picture book) and she already understood that Shin cares for her. Hesitating to call Shin up to tell him Noe is missing, and was surprised that he shuts the phone and immediately leaves searching for her. Maybe Hiromi would ask Shin directly who he really loves. Her or Noe.
I can see the promising ending where Noe and Shin got together. Jun wants to go out with Hiromi this time for real and she accepts it.
My other speculation Nobuse and Ai starting all over again already triggered this episode.
If it’s not for Noe, I won’t bother watching this series.. she’s one of the better heroines of late(yes, even with all her eccentricities..)
she is my most fave character after she asks Shin to confirm his love by writing it–i love it that she doesn’t take Shin’s words for granted and makes her resolve after he had ‘written it down..
if pity-love is what Noe’s gonna get, then she’s better off without it! Just like Crusader, i want her to be happy most, regardless with who she ends up or not at the end..
and she’s not crazy, please-who in the right mind would stay calm without a night of storm when your world crumbles? Normal girls cry like crazy(like me!), boys punch walls; and becuz Noe can’t cry, there must be an outlet for her feelings-that’s why she spends her time with Jibeta and does what she does in this eps..
SIEG NOE!!
ALL GLORY TO NOE! NOE TILL THE END!
Never commented on here before, but I love Noe, too. I think if the ending’s anything else aside from shin being with noe, than the show will prove to be so not worthy recomending it to anyone.
I don’t think Noe is crazy. And I think she’s never been as concious of reality as she’s now. She shut herself up because she is sad, she needs care and attention and she knows she has to wait for Shin to make up his mind, but waiting is painful. But she’s hlding out graciously. I don’t think she would ever kill herself, no, although the weather and place itself is really dangerous that one might slip and fall and die while lost in thoughts.
I’ve been there where Noe is. I know how she feels. I’ve shut myself, I’ve went out to seek confort on things and pets and places where I felt most confortable or connected to the person in question. Sometimes you need to run around aimlessly, you need to set the reality you know so well aside and try anything to let your sadness out and comfort yourself. that’s where I think Noe stands right now, she’s not being suicidal, just a bit emo.
Also, I think the little time Shin spent with her was enough to make his feelings towards her develope, but he hasn’t realized it yet. You see, he has known Hiromi since childhood, and they were still practically children when she came to live with him and his family. She seemed the fragile and hurt type that does make guys want to act as a knight in shining armour and protect them, and she might as well have been his first love, so of course it would be hard for him to realize his new feelings.
I believe Shin and Hiromi do care a lot about each other and are holding out to each other because of the feelings they did once had, but I feel love just isn’t there anymore, you see. Their relationship was never healthy to start with, though they did not realize it. And that’s where Noe and her brother come in: to make Shin and Noe understand their own feelings, to set them free from their disfunctional, childish, relationship.
Well, at least, that’s my theory. I’m a romantic, I know that. Sorry for writing so much.
yeah!
long live noe!!!
