Inside Information on Toshokan Sensou: A ‘Deep Frying’ Prequel Part 1

GAR Women FTW! >3

I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE TOSHOKAN SENSOU ANIME!!!! RAWR!

Ok, just thought I had to let that out xD

I know we still haven’t cooked up our Spring 2008 Menu post, but I wanted to pimp Toshokan Sensou SO BAD I detracted from doing that and dedicated a post for this series instead. Not much information around this title’s novel and mangas can be found on the net so far, and so I decided to provide a sneak preview for this show as early as now. I’ve already done this for Kurenai, and Junjou Romantica, so why not do this for my most anticipated anime of the season, right? =3

Just for the record, I’m reading the novel, and both the manga versions at the moment, and I’m LOVING it! It’s a great mix of action, romance, and comedy, which gives me some FMP vibes too, sans the mecha. With this, allow me to guide you into the world of Toshokan Sensou, as I reveal some inside information on this upcoming anime, and hopefully, make you guys see that this is a series that fanboys and fangirls alike will love ;)

A Last Supper of KimiKiss Spoilers, A Melancholic Reminiscence

the smiles in the faces of our dear characters is now but a memory of the past~

Ok, I’d have to admit, my KimiKiss passion has been going dowwnnnn… especially after episode 21, hence the lack of blog posts for the past two episodes. I look back at the very first KimiKiss post I made, and I can see that the flare is not as strong as it was anymore, sadly so. I’d still continue watching this show till the end, and see how things are going to turn out, but I don’t see it exceeding my expectations any time soon.

There are only two episodes left, and where is the Asuka confession? nada. The spoiler for episode 23 mentioned that Asuka will be scouted for the Women’s Soccer League, and will perhaps be offered training somewhere abroad, just like in the manga. Kazuki is happy for Asuka, but the latter’s sadness over her bittersweet lovelife keeps her from being 100% happy over this news. Surprisingly, stupid Kazuki still hasn’t figured out why she’s feeling all down and depressed. T_T

A True Tears Perso-Noe-fication: The Melancholy of Isurugi Noe

Something came to me after watching True Tears episode 10 and I started composing this Perso-Noe-fication of mine… I guess this is my way of emo-ing over Noe’s sad fate, made even worse by the spoilers I read x__x

I put myself in Noe’s shoes for a while, and came up with this monologue / letter, which is a mix of my own feelings and what I think would be Noe’s feelings. I just hope it didn’t become out of character ^^;;;

Here’s a sneak peak:

————————————-

Beloved Obaachama,

All along I thought Shinichirou would be the destined person to bring back my tears, not of sadness but of joy and happiness. But I guess I was wrong. How foolish I was to think that his love for me was true, when all that he told me that day turned out to be nothing else but empty promises. What’s simply written on the ephemeral snows were never made to last. That I should’ve known from the start. Oh why, of all times, did my magokoro (true-heart)-perceptiveness have to fail me that time.

Putting a $30 Play-asia Coupon to Good Talkman Use

So I ordered a bunch or random stuff from Play-asia last February coz I found their Year-of-the-Rat Sale too hard to resist orz. That, in turn, allowed me to participate in their Year-of-the-Rat raffle draw, though I already forgot I was even part of that. Until, I got this news from Play-asia, that I won a $30 coupon! w00t! xD

I’ve thought long and hard about this, before finally deciding on buying myself TalkmanTM for PSP. It’s a neat little voice-activated translation software, somewhat like an interactive traveler’s phrasebook, which you can use both as reference and practice tool for various languages, primarily Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean. Another Talkman version, the Talkman Euro, has also been released, supporting English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, and Japanese (or Chinese, in the Chinese Talkman Euro version). I ordered the former one, which comes bundled with the USB microphone for the PSP, so I can readily use it for brushing up on my sucky Japanese and Chinese communication skills.

Shugo Chara Chapter 27 - The Ikuto Revelations

w00t!!! :P

Things have now become peaceful as the Black Diamond saga has come to a close, but of course we all know that the Easter is still at large. So long as the Embryo lives, the Easter will live to search for it. Now in this chapter, we see a glimpse of the Easter’s Big Bad Boss who’s behind all the Egg hunting activities in town, addressed by the name of “Gozen”. His identity is still a mystery at this point, so I have no clue as to who this person is. I had this wild guess that this person is the Guardian’s First King, but that would seem absurd since The First K is all friendly towards Ikuto. And it’s not like Gozen is wearing a mask to conceal his identity… or is he? Oh well enough of that first XD Let’s allow Peach Pit to work his unveilment magic!

Persona ~trinity soul~ 08 - The Pills, The Paranormal, and The Puzzlement

Whew… took me some time to get this one out x__x;;;

So they didn’t show us the epilogue of Yumi Tasaka’s story featured in the previous episode. Instead, we see more of the paranormal side of Naginomori High, which predictably turns out to be Persona-related. Are we left to assume that Yumi has recovered from being the suicidal feather-attracted self she was in the last episode, or will that mysterious feather girl come back to haunt her later and continue her plans? Whatever that is. No complaints as of the moment, so long as the series delve into this later, these disjointed episodes will be forgivable.

Not much plot-wise developments happen in this episode, though it allowed us to see a glimpse of Jun’s Persona abilities, aside from his strong sixth sense and mind-reading abilities, people and their personas alike.

Junjou Romantica: A Word of Advice

Hear ye hear ye~ Especially ye ‘ol [straight] homophobic guys~

If there’s one show you have to be wary of in the coming Spring 2008 anime line-up, it’s probably Junjou Romantica. I never really thought guys would be interested in watching this show, despite the seemingly amusing premise and characters. Hence, it was to my surprise when I found out that psgels was looking forward to this. I already warned psgels about it, and decided to make this post for the benefit of people who are unaware of what they’re plunging themselves into with Junjou Romantica.

True Tears 9 - So the Shin x Hiromi Fans Must Be Rejoicing Now… Are You?

Look! It’s me bunneh!

First of all, I’m proud to say that I had a guest appearance in this episode. I am ze almighty rabbit who caused Jun and Hiromi to stumble and fall! mwahahaha. Ok, I kid. It was only a little prank, supposedly to heat up things between Jun x Hiromi, but my plan backfired as Shin ended up showing his true feelings with a hug of concern. Drats! TT__TT

*ahem* Hope you find that amusing, coz the next part of this post is gonna be emo~

a trickle of true tear…
