I prefer it over several of the "new" styles some people swear by, they just don't understand the wonders of Old School... Great anime, great art work, and adorable manga! I know the manga is set to start releases in November of 2009 in the US, I hope to see the anime released as well some day. I think several people can relate to it and it would make a very good show for the younger generation to watch, kind of a moral story or role model thing, instead of... some of that stuff they have now. If people can stand to read the manga as I've heard then the story must be tops! I'm sorry to hear that the mangaka died and wasn't able to continue her work. That one was priceless... As for the artwork... heck, yeah, it is old school and it brings back memories of animes from the 80's era.
