So Library War makes its premiere, and needless to say, I loved it!! *____*
As expected from Production I.G. (who Seleria and I fondly call PIG), the animation is superb, almost movie-like, I’d say. I loved the thick outline style they used on the characters, as some bloggers have also pointed out. And both the OP and ED songs are <3333 Hitomi Takahashi’s voice sounds so much like YUI I would not have been able to tell the difference if I didn’t know she was singing the OP beforehand o_O. And it goes without saying that Baseball Bear is <333
Despite the rather serious Library vs Media Improvement Brigade elements of the show, the mix of the action and humor, as well as the potential romance tidbit seemed all natural and not forced. Expect more action in the later episodes of the show, while still maintaining its touch of humor and romance (aka overall entertainment value). The prince-charming aspects of the show make it seem as if we’re watching a fairy-tale of some sort
The pacing was also great, though I was a bit sad that they cut short some of the comedic parts, like the Judo sparring scene and some bits and pieces of dialogues, but it was understandable that they can only do so much in the span of ~23 minutes. I’m not so sure if I can have the time and leisure to make deep frying posts this time around, but we’ll see~
Sadly, though, Toshokan Sensou is not an anime for everyone, especially the for cynics who find the premise so utterly ridiculous it hampers their overall enjoyment of the show =__=’’’ The thing is, Library War takes itself seriously. Amidst the humor present throughout the show, the somewhat-over-the-top value it places on the Power of Information is the very aspect you have to be able to appreciate (or at least, have a neutral viewpoint of) for its full enjoyment and exciting goosebumps effect. Otherwise, the passion of the characters in their Crusade for Freedom to Information will all be in vain, because you won’t see the point of it all!
Impz has already started his own crusade for this show, especially the SERIOUS INFORMATION BUSINESS matters, though again, if you’ve already been put off by the concept of Librarians fighting for this over-the-top yet realistic and noteworthy cause, I doubt you’ll be able to appreciate that. Well if you do, then that’d just be great! I can’t wait to see the current cynics change their opinions of this show as it progresses, rawr!
Viva La Revolución!! Viva Toshokan Sensou! o/

Prod IG FTW!
I really like the ED by Base Ball Bear…since they’re awesome. The OP is pretty fun too though.
Prod’n IG, banzai! Can’t wait for the subs! ^^
Haven’t watched it yet (waiting for the subs), but the way you’ve been going on about it makes me think it must be something really special
I hope it’s just as good as you say, and that I’m gonna like it just as much as I’m liking Itazura na Kiss and Vampire Knight this season
…maybe you should eat less caffeine
No really, this is awesome your hype and pimping style is justified, but yes, time, I hope it runs double season (though it is listed for 12 episodes atm).
Level of seriousness is +/- since there is solid comedy and hopefully romance, but yea information is scary *thinks ColdWarBBQ*
yay
Silly or not, the premise behind actual conflict over books is awesome.
Hey you got around to blogging it!
Though I don’t see why the plot would cause anyone to be adverse to watching this, since it is, after all, comedy.
I really want to watch this now, especially cos the animation looks so great. But … it’s not subbed … Damn you lucky RAW watchers!
YES YES YES THE ANIMATION IS GORGEOUS. I watched it in high quality~ The songs are fantastic! AHHHHH goodness. The mix of both serious and humorous elements makes it wonderful. Time to improve my Japanese watching it D
@Totali: ProdID + BaseBallBear~~~ things can’t go wrong with that combination
@Priss-chan: I’d say it’s a different level of enjoyment compared to Itazura na Kiss and Vampire, but I’m still hoping you’ll enjoy it nonetheless! ^^
@Ryan: lol, I didn’t even need caffeine to make me HIGH on Toshokan Sensou
I’m hoping it’ll be a double-season anime too, 12 eps is just too short~~~
@Zeroblade: well this anime is supposed to be a satire after all, so whether it’s ridiculous or not, I hope people can still enjoy it!
@Nagato: well, some people are… critical and… not really fun
@Blissmo: LOL! muahaha
you can consult Impz’s summary though, if you intend to watch it raw :3
@usagijen, waah! u finally got around to posting it! i was waiting for feedback on this series^_^ i was wondering though, do you know of the group who might be subbing this? i hope the subs come out soon^^;
Thanks for pimping this anime! I’ve given it a try and I absolutely didn’t regret it! I’m following this better than S.A. and VK!
I really like the specific idea of the oppression on the content of everything. Like other IG anime really interesting and quite possible in the future. Example Ghost In the Shell.
