Shugo Chara Chapter 30 - The Many Faces of Ikuto
This is like almost 2 months late, and what I’ll be covering in this chapter came out in volume 7, which has already been reviewed by Hinano (which I lament on not being able to comment on 
).
First off, thanks to ShiningNinja for giving me the heads up on this one (and for the scans)… this was indeed such a heart-wrenching chapter. IKUTOOOoo BAWW ;______________;
Chapter 30 jumps to the next day after the Ikuto x Tadase fight, so we’re pretty much clueless as to what happened throughout that intense battle. We only see its aftermath, the wounds that both Ikuto and Tadase sustained, in particular. Moving on to the next day, Nagihiko was formally introduced to the rest of the Royal Guardians, as the new Jack’s chair (and as Nadeshiko’s “twin”). Yaya was amazed by his striking resemblance with Nadeshiko, while Rima scorns at how he can be a Guardian when his egg hasn’t hatched yet (boy that sounds wrong).
Tadase defends Nagihiko against Rima’s mockery and almost slips in revealing that Nagihiko used to be previous Quee– and sly Nagihiko manages to work his way through this. Yaya tells Rima that Nadeshiko is Amu’s best friend, which makes Rima cry in envy. But we all know Rima and her skillz in acting, and Nagihiko easily sees through her façade of crocodile tears. As they say, it takes one to know one 
Tadase cuts to the chase and discusses his findings on the recent X-eggs gathering incidents, the perpetrator of whom is no one else but Ikuto. Amu vehemently denies this to be true, and was about to defend Ikuto’s innocence by telling them that he was in her room all along, but stops midway as she thinks of the distasteful consequence once Tadase finds out that Ikuto was present during his private confession.
The Royal Guardian meeting ends, and Amu takes some time alone to think of her dilemma, caught in between the “feud” between Ikuto and Tadase as she is (or so that’s how it seems like to Amu). She feels bad for keeping the issue about Ikuto (and her temporary ‘adoption’ of the stray cat), but couldn’t bear the thought of making Tadase sad and angry (at her) with this revelation. And then, Nadeshiko comes to her aid to cheer her up, just like old times, only that he’s Nagihiko now.
Before Amu confides about her problem, she makes Nagihiko tie up his hair the same way Nadeshiko does (and Nagihiko also does his ‘Nadeshiko’ voice as a bonus ), which makes Amu more comfortable around him. In response to the question Amu posed, Nagihiko tells her that keeping secrets from someone is not good, by virtue that’s the way it’s supposed to be. But then there are times when lying is deemed to be the best option, if that’s the way to keep someone from being hurt. You should just be prepared to bear the consequences that comes with lying, says Nagihiko. We all know that Nadeshiko is hitting two birds with one stone with this advice of his, it reflects his very own dilemma of keeping his real identity a secret from Amu, the girl he treasures the most.
Tadase meets up with Amu and decides to tell him what he knows about Ikuto, giving her a forewarning that Ikuto is an ominous black cat. They arrange a meet-up for this. Amu arrives home and finds Ikuto reading Nakayorushi (lolz), which makes her all the more dismiss what Tadase said about him being an ominous cat. Ikuto tricks her into taking a peek at the “wounds” on his chest, so he gets to hug her 
Amu drags him off to shower after that.
Ikuto gets into his usual perv mode and complains about the size of the bathroom, imagining how two people would fit in this little space. After some time, Amu decides to get herself dressed-up for her meeting with Tadase, and warns Ikuto not to take a peek. Ikuto tells her he won’t do anything that will make her mad, so she can be rest assured of that.
Amu is rather surprised and happy about this, and thinks of the many faces she has seen of Ikuto. He constantly teases her, but he also saves her whenever she needs help, and always understood her feelings. Just then, Yoru spots something by the window (the Easter henchmen) and warns Ikuto about this.
Amu sneaks out the bathroom with Ikuto, only to be caught by her mother. Amu explains the situation to her mom, who believes in her, but was disappointed that she kept this from her all this time. After the scolding session, Amu’s mom decides that Ikuto could no longer stay at their house, and helps him find a place to stay instead.
Ikuto prepares to take his leave, and thinks of how wonderful it is to have a family like Amu’s. Tadase arrives not long after, only to find Ikuto together with Amu. Amu was at a lost on how to explain all this to Tadase, when Ikuto does this on her behalf, and makes fun of Tadase’s confession too.
Poor Tadase was hurt by all this, and weeps as he takes his leave. Amu scolds Ikuto for being a jerk and drives him off — the reaction Ikuto totally expected and wanted, so he can prevent anyone else from getting involved with his own mess.
Amu searches for Tadase, while Ikuto surrenders himself to Easter. Yoru frantically asks Amu for his help, to save Ikuto who’s currently in the brink of danger.

Poor Ikuto. Reading a full proper summary makes me feel even worse for him. I’m definitely looking forward to the day when the jerks from Easter get what’s coming to them.
But in the meantime, I’ll just like Ikuto even more than usual. Purposely making Amu mad at him so she won’t get involved. That’s why he’s the favorite Shugo Chara boy~! Even during his stay with Amu when all this stuff going on he was his usual self, teasing her~! I’d been wondering how he managed to get Amu close enough for the little hug.

Alot of ppls agree when it comes 2 Tadase looking like a girl and could have had a posible sex change in the past,but I think we all agree that Ikuto looks SO sad!!
I feel like crying myself-but then I fell stupid because this is only on paper and not in real life. If any one has read/seen Fushigi Yuugi,then some will know how I feel and think that sometimes being a fictional charcter wouldn’t be bad and/or falling in love with one. But all my hopes are futile because even though I know that magic isn’t real…Iv’e always wished it was.

Mm, good job on summarizing this chapter ^^ :up:, after reading this in vol. 7, I actually kind of felt how Tadase feels :O, and my love for RimaxNagihiko actually soared o.O; if you understand what I mean. Despite Tadamu moments, I have a feeling this series is probably going to end with Amuto :D. Can’t wait for the next vol/chapter as this series seems to already have reached its climax. Although, poor Tadase and Ikuto
Awww….. the first time i saw the raws, I saw Tadase crying and I nearly choked with laughter because he looked… extremely girly and gay-ish there
but now I feel kinda bad for it

Rimahiko and Utaukai are just incredibly cute!
In the beginning I thought that Nagihiko was in love with Amu, (she has a fan club) but it looks like he thinks of her as his best friend. At least I hope so… 
Oh and btw, thanks for the awesome reviews, because if we waited for the translations we’d find out what was going on only from the anime…

Ah, I really liked the conversation Amu had with Nagihiko. It’s not only reflecting his current sticky situation about “Nadeshiko” but also indirectly addressed what Ikuto did at the end of this chapter, too.
But then there are times when lying is deemed to be the best option, if that’s the way to keep someone from being hurt. You should just be prepared to bear the consequences that comes with lying, says Nagihiko.
My heart bleeds for Ikuto for this. ;_____; He’s so selfless!
I hope Amu remembers what Nagihiko said or at least realize something’s not right in the next chapter before going off to save Ikuto (maybe her Charas mentioned something like that but I wouldn’t know).
Not carin’ much about Tadase. He redeemed himself a bit in ch. 31 but in the end, he’s not going to be with Amu anyway. :/

Towards the end of the first book when Kukai is explaining to Amu about X-eggs, It shows a picture of a X-egg and someone kneeling in profile-y shadow. The someone looks a LOT like Ikuto!! I am not sure if this is important,though.
Oh, chapter 30~! I was so in my fangirl mode when I read it. I was an overdose of Amuto for my poor lil heart, and then a ‘dramatic’ ending.

First, thank God ur bloggin’ this, ’cause I dont’ have a clue of Japanese and readin’ it in RAW wasn’t the same without ur summary~! I only have some dialogs in Spanish…
Anyway, I did wanted to see Ikuto-Tadase fight, but at least we got to see Rima-tan jealous~! She’s so cute ♥ And the idea of RimaxNagihiko doesn’t sound bad, but I’m not entirely convinced yet…
Oh, and “Nadeshiko”, welcome back~! After so many chapters I still hav this strange feelin’ about Nagihiko, since he’ll have to tell Amu the truth someday, but when he advices Amu reminds me to the Nadeshiko of the 1st volume and seems like nothing of the 4th one had happened… I’m lookin’ forward to Amu’s reaction when she finds out the truth… But I hope it’ll be bcause Nagihiko told her and no bcuase third party…
Oh, when Amu entered to her room and found Ikuto all relaxed in her bed readin’ was just superb. And we get to see so really good stuff, ’cause we see Amu smilin’ and reflectin’ about Ikuto, Ikuto in his perv mode, some ‘lol’ things, and something that personaly, I’ve been waitin’ so long… Someone who actually see them!! [And aren't the charas]. First is Amu’s mom [if it was her dad he'd probably have a heart attack for seein' his cool and spicy but yet lil girl with a hot older boy hidden x)]. She scolded her a bit but then everything was fine… But what I actually enjoyed the most was that Tadase saw them. I remember the time of the Ice-creAmuto scene and he totally freaked out. And that was supposedly an accident. But the fact he caught them in Amu’s house and then Ikuto told him about his extended stay, was just priceless. [And no, I don't feel bad for Tadase. But in this chapter he didn't piss me off, he's progresin'!]
And Ikuto… Ahh ♥… I just love him even more and more. Usually one is all excited becuase of the cute scenes and the interaction, but this… doin’ something that he knew it’d affect him in order to protect Amu truly shows how much he cares about her. ♥ ♥ ♥
This chapter was all an average fangirl could want, expect and need. Well, at least for me.

)…I wanted Tadase to hate Ikuto a bit less, so I could stop hating him (not that the whole liking Amu thing was enough

Wow, thanks for the summary! This really gave some insight (cuz i can’t really read enough japanese yet…but someday!). I have the 7th book, which ends right on this chapter, and I have nakayoshi 8, the next one. What a chapter though, I had no idea he purposely did that to get her out of the way. What a sweetheart!
He’s so much more than he appears to be. I want my very own Ikuto! I’m excited to see how Amu will help him out of this one.

I enjoyed reading the summary! Thanks! But I skipped Amuto parts since I have a terrible dislike for them. I kind of hate the pairing. KIND OF. I’m not fangirl obsessed. I feel as if I’m the only one who like the pairing Nagihiko+Amu since he cares for her the most and understand Amu’s feelings more than any of the other boys in this series. The other boys like Ikuto and Tadase get jealous. Nagihiko wants her to be happy no matter what and won’t care if she luvs someone else. Thats why me like the pairing. I pity Tadase-kun. ~sigh~ You dont wanna here what I think of Ikuto-kun… though they both are cool characters…they make the anime more interesting…
