I must watch and hear that part where Maeno Tomoaki appears and reads the lines! Just by reading your post about it makes me feel all giddy. *goes into find-a-clip-of that-scene-by-all-means-necessary mode*

@Ryan: Arikawa-san’s message (in the ToshoSen blog) was just great, it’s also in her deepest hopes that people will love the characters she created. I also remember her mentioning that instead of being called the “original author” of the adaptations, she’d rather be addressed as the one who entrusted the work into the anime/manga producer’s hands, so all the adaptations are official and has her seal of approval

and wow, if only I had the means to have such a satellite! I can only rely on 3rd party live streaming apps for now… till I get rich or something

@Random Otaku: heh, yeah… if only I had the means to record it I would’ve! But sigh =/

As for the novels, I bought them from HMV, you can go check out this link for them.

@biankita: it was kinda short notice, and it was actually aired on NHK Japan only once last September. The reruns, including what I watched, was only aired in NHK Education TV, which I don’t think our cable TV has

Like OMG, I didn’t even realize there was an interview (had I did I’d probably lock myself in my room waiting for it, GAH)

There’s no understating the popularity of Arikawa Hiro’s works… Now if only they sold her books in soft cover… They’re all pretty looking and all but cost a bomb to buy (and would take years to finish reading at my current pace -_-”)

I actually thought that Hiro Arikawa would be a woman. I don’t think a guy would be able to write ToshoSen under the romance genre But what do I know??? The only thing about the novel I’ve read are the ones being translated on the LJ site
I should really need to watch NHK more… -_-”’ Global Destiny Cable has both NHK Japan and NHK World. I can’t believe I would miss this.

Thanks for the report! It would be great if anyone DID record it, and it’ll get sub’ed, but I’m not holding my breath for it to happen I guess.

Anyway, I wanted to ask you how you got the ToshoSen novels. I just finished watching the series and I’ve fallen in love with the story and characters – I just have to get the novels, even though my Japanese is horrible and I’ll read the English translation for now, I want to show my support!

(And yes, you have a reader or two from Israel, go figure.)

Dammit! I still haven't finished the series sadlul... I'm impressed with the author's acceptance of the adaptation. btw, If I were in the Philippines, I'd likely try to connect up to this satellite since it carries both NHK and BBC Japan, but requires at least a 2m dish D:, this satellite carries it as well, but doesn't need the giant dish (a .6m would work). The channels are free, that's the best part. Thought I'd mention it, since I woe over computer streaming (I'm on the computer enough, sometimes I just want to watch the tube).... I was raised around communications satellites, so they are pretty accessible to me from a information perspective. Cheers Jen Bunny!
