I was planning to go there on a Sunday morning, right after Mass – there’s a chapel run by the Franciscans in Roppongi not too far from the Tower. Judging from these shots, though, it’s probably best to return at night.

I experienced my very first crammed up train ride, and realized that there�s no way the train rides in Tokyo will ever compare to the helluva commute ride I go through everyday in the Philippines, with the ogres and all.

I try to avoid commuting here as much as possible, for reasons you can sympathise with. I do remember my first morning rush-hour commute on the MRT, just a few days ago. Unbearable.

Ohhhh, the sweat!

@schneider: You’d have less, and more, problem as a guy riding the train in Japan, methinks. Have to make sure your hand is kept in your pocket or holding something else, just so you won’t be easily accused of being a chikan! (heard stories from our sensei) And I hateeee our commute system(?) here, but oh well, I managed to adapt to it now.

@totali: you make me want to watch Nana! And you don’t have to tell me that I fail for not having watched Nana

@Martin: the entrance fee is 820 yen. Not sure about the entrance to the special observatory, but it’s around 600-800+ yen, I think. The free birthday cake and entrance fee should be more than enough reason for you to visit it! And yeah, it’ll be great to visit at night/until nighttime

@Rah’ra: flying cars– WHUT? o.O And who/what the heck is Bladerunner? I did go to Tokyo and I personally took these pics, and I feel honored that thought my pics were so great you even mistook it to be stolen from some ‘professional’ site or taken by a professional photographer or something

How much is it to get in? I’ll be in Tokyo in a few months’ time, and one of the guys I’m travelling with celebrates his birthday on the day we arrive too. Something tells me we’ll have to make a Tokyo Tower detour to buy him some cake…

But yeah, great pics. It’s now on my list of places to visit!
