To Taiga and Friends(?)
The bomb that is episode 21 has come upon us and the girls continue to run the show. The dynamics have shifted and I can only wonder how this will all end. I don’t know if it’s going to be pretty, but it’s going to be one hell of a ride.

Taiga,
You’ve taken the lead! You’ve left the others in the dust and they don’t even know it! I never thought you’d use the I’m-so-out-of-it-I-cannot-be-blamed-for-all-the-could-be-random-shit-I-say move. It was underhandedly beautiful. Even with a bloodied temple, a possible concussion, and hypothermia, you’re still able to spit out perfectly coherent Japanese. The others may cry foul, but you can claim temporary insanity. If Ryuuji does not reciprocate, you can feign amnesia. It’s brilliant. Just like that, we’re no longer wondering who Ryuuji is going to end up with (for now). In any case, it was a sensational comeback for the Palmtop Tiger!

Minorin,
You know too much and feel too much. You’re too aware of your own feelings and everyone else’s. All these emotions are pulling you in different directions. No matter how you look at it, you are the one hurting the most and as soon as Ami pecked on the cracks of your fragile façade, it came crashing down like a house of cards. You snap. You don’t send her flying though. When have you been so weak?
Everything has changed a long time ago. Nonchalance won’t return things back to what they were. If the AMI PUNCH was not enough of a reality check, here’s another: Taiga totally screwed you over. She PWNED you like no one’s business. Honestly, coming back this deep into the game for an upset is near impossible. But will you concede defeat? Or will you RAW RAW FIGHT THE POWAH?

If sleds could kill, I’d be writing a eulogy right now.
Resentment and jealously has made you an acid spewing, malicious, illogical, and violent Ami. All maturity has gone out the door. Your words no longer meant to mock, but to hurt. Really, you had better days. If only you’d apply that same intensity towards articulating your affections clearly towards Ryuuji, he wouldn’t be such a blissfully ignorant fool.
I have to laud you. I didn’t think you could hold your own against Minorin in a fist (palm?) fight. Though, what’s up with this show and giving blue-haired chicks one free shot at their opponents? It happened with El Presidente with that shoe flick and, now, you with the point blank whack to the chest. Could it be? Hair color discrimination!?

Screw Taiga! She knows minorin too much that she let everyone believe what she’s doing is for minorin and ryuuji. HA! But I can see through her tactics…she’s eviiiiilll!!
BY THE GODS, I hope minorin makes a comeback before it all ends. (I want ami to end up the winner but we all know that’s not gonna happen anytime soon >_<)
Blue hair definitely == free shot at restrained opponents. I think Ami knows she has no chance, and yet cannot help but let her secret bitchiness out. That is why I like her.
Taiga pretty much has this race wrapped up however, I hope the last stretch of this show covers the one thing that has been glaring at at us thru the whole run and thats the fact we (and by extension Ryuuji) know more about minor characters like Kihara than we do about Minorin. The girl is a near total cipher.
My favorite moment of this episode tho was the second or so after the gang tumbled out of the closet and you can nearly feel Haruta thinking “What happened, why are my friends hurting? I don’t like this.”. That redeemed every moment in the show that I thought “Boy, this guy is annoying”.
More like Taiga herself doesn’t even know it either, since she seems to be drifting in and out of consciousness. I agree with carbon though, I don’t think Ami or Minori can ever take the lead back now.
Yeah I was surprised too that Ami held her own against Minori the softball team captain. i guess Ami used her slight height advantage lol (and also taking the free shot).
The latest episodes made me melt for Taiga, well Taiga’s moments already made me cry way back when she still hasn’t realized her true feelings, but mehhnorin, Taiga all the way!!

Ami’s frustration is showing in her actions as of late, now it manifested in the form of violence =/ The similarity with the president is uncanny, and to think that Ami was the fire starter in this case… gahh, wish she could snap and finally tell Ryuuji “I hate how much I love you, BAKA!!”
@usagijen: I hope either ami/minorin tells ryuuji that. I really don’t want Ryuuji to end up with taiga.
That ending is so cliche. But alas, I think we all know where this is heading. I guess I’m just in denial. hahaha
i never liked minorin since the first time she actively participated in the anime. i don’t know why so many people are so in love with her character. i totally think she’s the fakest character in the entire series.
i would totally go for taiga. as for ami… i like her far better now that when i did when she first appeared in the series. but she is actually the best character in the series now.
…especially after ryuuji turned to milktoast and kitamura lost his mind.

@carbon I know what you mean. In this episode alone, we had 3 versions of Minorin: (1) cheerfully fake Minorin (2) shut-yer-trap-Ami Minorin (3) you’ve-done-it-now-Ami-I’m-sooo-gonna-kick-your-pretty-ass Minorin. Minorin was so much easier to digest before when she lived off on crack.
My favorite Haruta moment was when he told Ryuuji that if he were a girl, he’d go out with Ryuuji in a heart beat. He totally confessed to Ryuuji before Taiga did.

It’s sad to admit, but the underdogs never win.
I know Minorin for sure has more fire power with her baseball training, but then Ami keeps herself in shape as a model. Maybe slapping needs another type of special training for it to be deadly?
@usagijen Minorin will drill her way to victory! I initially thought that the correct lyrics was ‘row row fight the powah’ but when I looked it up it was actually ‘raw raw fight the powah’. That was totally off-topic!
I can totally imagine Ami saying this! This scene could totally work!
@biankita I generally don’t like the excessively genki airhead types, which was how I assessed Minorin to be at first. The turning point for me was that scene when Ryuuji was passing a note in class to Minorin and asked about what she thought of people who think themselves as airheads. Minorin stood up with a glazed look in her eyes and I thought for sure she was going to agree with a maru (O), but she didn’t and made that batsu (X) pose that will forever be etched in my heart. That was the moment I fell in love with her and knew that she wasn’t an airhead.
After that, she just continued to provide the laughs and crack. She was confident and so sure of herself even as a bald pirate. She was a happy character and I found that very attractive about her.
I really like Ami as well. Her sarcasm and sharp wit is unmatched. I like how she psychoanalyzes everyone. Her only weakness is Ryuuji.
You must continue these letters, for they are awesome.
But what of sad Ami in the snow, does she not earn any level of your sympathy?
