@KayDat: My thought process?! I still have a lot to learn too D: You guys make me learn a lot from this, so I think it’s a give-and-take!

My apologies if my delusional fangirling has skewed your perceptions in any way I honestly don’t think the score I give is ‘objective’ most of the time, but having people reaffirm the LOVE for the show makes the said score sooo valid (objective or not ^^)

You know, ever since I hopped on the MAL bandwagon a whileback, I’ve struggled to figure out how to score anime, and I would have to agree. While my thought process hasn’t been as well drawn out as you, I would totally agree with the 10 equals love of the anime. Like Senna, I’d score based on a balance of my ‘objective’ view of quality, production value and execution, and a subjective enjoyment, though I find these days I am leaning more and more towards simple enjoyment.

That said, I do wonder sometimes if my score/perception is affected sometimes by hype (I’m looking at you, fangirl Usagi!), but I guess that might be partially related to wanting to connect with those who enjoy the same things as you.
