Condolences, Kaze no Stigma author Yamato Takahiro, you may have passed away, but your work will forever be remembered
Reminiscence
It’s been 2 years since the good ol’ Kaze no Stigma days, and boy was it one heck of a ride. To those who’ve been with this blog since those days when we were just starting out, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for supporting this n00b.
Though now that I think about it, our blog was even more made of epic win back then, because those KnS posts, despite being ‘unpolished’, filled with typos and grammatical errors, and overflowing with n00bness, were MADE OF LOVE, and all those who read ‘em most likely felt that too. And as I type this post, I can still… remember love.
Kaze no Stigma was the first ever series I blogged from start to end (how the heck I managed to make those posts with batshit insane ‘deep frying’ back then is beyond me), first series I blogged [semi-live] straight from Japan, the first light novel I ever read (in moonspeak!), the first series to make me feel the JOY of watching/blogging an anime with a ‘community’, one with fans in supporting this underdog of a series… definitely makes for a warm and fuzzy feeling.
It was, and will forever be, oh so special to me.
KnS: Past, Present, Future
Man, this is so sad… saying goodbye to Yamato Takahiro is short for saying “Goodbye Kaze no Stigma, as we have all feared, we really won’t get to see how the whole story ends, we won’t get to see any more Kazuma x Ayano antics either. Goodbye hopes for a second season, goodbye hopes for KnS anime adaptation justice”
I never even got to finish (or even formally start) my review/summary of the 4th and 5th Ignition novel (which were zOMG DOKI DOKI), gave nothing else but a teaser, o poor KnS fans who I simply kept at arms’ length
While I sort-of made up for it with this manga review post, I still failed to show my love for the novels.
Kaze no Stigma isn’t really the PINNACLE OF ANIMES, I can’t even bring myself to recommend it to anyone, no matter how special it is to me. But it was fun… real fun.
Kaze no Stigma started out on an epic note, screwed up along the way, ended up in a ‘trainwreck’. Either way the characters stood out, Ayano x Kazuma is my OTP, somewhat how I imagine my relationship will turn out to be once I’m finally in one, an ever-so-teasable Ayano, hopefully paired up with a much better Kazuma (hawtness and badass levels definitely a PLUS), but ahh I digress.
A trainwreck it might have turned into, but forgettable it is not. Even the WTF GIANT TURTLE won’t be forgotten.
I’m still tsundere for it, but all things considered, I still love it.

a little SAABISU before we proceed to the next section
Kazuma x Ayano: A Tribute
credits due to the ones who made these AMV/tributes
For the love of Kazuma x Ayano~!
If you ever feel like reminiscing Kazuma x Ayano’s “moments”, this one’s for you:
Byebye Yamato Takahiro, byebye Kaze no Stigma
I’ll forever be a fan~~~
And the million dollar question is, when will I ever get to write about those darn novels. Gotta wonder if people would still be interested to know about them o.O * put your hands up~! *

-raises hand- i for one would love to know what happend in the novels..i just finished watching the anime you see
ご冥福を祈ります。
It’s always sad to hear of the passing of great creators and innovators.
I know what you mean about having a special place in your heart for that first manga or first novel you read in Japanese. I think that’s one reason I’m so attached to the Haruhi and Spicy Wolf franchises, they were the first two light novel series I actually read through (albeit slowly and with lots of dictionary use).
Rest in peace. I really liked KnS alot, with the dynamics between Kazuma and Ayano. It saddens me that it wasn’t brought to a proper conclusion.
Writers should be required to write the final book first and add it to their will
I was really sad when I heard the news about the author passing away. Kaze no Stigma is one of my all-time favourite animes, and will probably stay that way. It makes me kind of depressed to know I will never find out what the author had in mind for Ayano and Kazuma…
Still, it’s not too late for you to post the summaries for the ignition novels, is it? I – and probably many others out there – would love to hear about the AyanoxKazuma moments
@inuhanyou: Oh yeah, how could I forget about the people who are only discovering KnS just now!
@0rion: I think reading Kaze no Stigma (light novels in general) improved my reading skillz by a whole lot, instrumental in making me pass JLPT2, so it’s all the more special that way
@Mentar: You guys made me feel the love back then too.
people in other forums are actually wondering if this’ll ever get the “Trinity Blood” treatment, where the original author’s friend finished the book. Possible if the author left notes as to how he wants it to end, perhaps. Either way I want to see the rest of the unpublished short stories (at the very least)!
@Priss-chan: we’re left with our imagination~ sigh. At least we’re not left second guessing the feelings they have for each other? Once I get around reading the book again (hopefully at a much better rate than I did before!), I’ll make sure to post about it :3
Totally at a lost now that the KnS author died…
Another loss in the industry…
…such is life
AHHHHH I cannot believe there is a new KnS post on here! I usually check once in awhile for any Kaze news since I found this site, what like a year or more ago?!
*raises hand* You must write about the novels, usagijen. Absolutely. Must.
Um. Please?
=P Thank you for bringing nostalgic KnS again with this post, I appreciate it.
I also did not know Yamato Takahiro passed, r.i.p.
Aw..
I just recently picked up Kaze no Stigma, and was really enjoying it. Since it’ll never end, now, is it still worth watching, then? or should I just go and stick with something else? Sucks, cause I really liked it… =\
@divy: aww, you’re welcome! It might take some before I can get to write about KnS again though, conflicting priorities, ugh. Sometimes the best solution is to just forget everything else and just do what you feel like doing.
May Yamato Takahiro’s soul rest in peace
@English Dubbed Anime (addressing you by that ‘nick’ feels weird lol): Kazuma, Ayano and her three friends, their fun dynamics, makes it worth watching IMO. Don’t watch it for the plot (or expect to see an epic story) because you’d be disappointed
***raises hand***
I always check this site for updates on the novel summaries. I personally love Kaze no Stigma and it’s really sad that we can’t find out the ending but hopefully the translated/summarized novels will satisfy the fan’s cravings.
Appreciate if you push through with the novel write-ups.
Even if Yamato Takahiro i just hope someone is picking up were he left and not just let this great anime die, because god damnit i wan’t kazuma and ayano to bloody kiss for real
when that happens i think we all wil be glad
@Rina: Currently preoccupied with JLPT1 cramming studies, will certainly get a lot more free time once JLPT1 ends (and I do hope that I’ll pass!) Will make it a point to make the write-up then
@jonas: but Kazuma did kiss Ayano with that elixir episode! Just that it’s not a real romantic kiss
Either way, what I miss most is the fun fun Kazuma x Ayano antics, sigh.
I’m from India and even people here like Kaze no Stigma please do the book reviews !!
Yay!!! Hope you pass the test!!!
Please do the book reviews!!! Than at least I would have some more ayano and kazuma love T_T it’s so sad that the author died.
*Raises hand*
This sucks, KnS is one of my favorite light novel and probably will stay at that place for all eternity~~
I too am a huge fan of Kaze no Stigma, and it took me 2-3 years for me to know that the author died.. (R.I.P) *sigh* I’m so sad
Bear hug to ya all~~
This is so late but please do the book reviews. I’m not very satisfied with the anime because I can’t really feel the love Kazuma has for Ayano ._. Which pains me as a fangirl. I heard that the books do the couple more justice
