@Kabitzin: I can see how the 3rd party commenting system can be useful for those wordpress.com blogs, but hm, do they actually have this choice? Sucks if it's one of the limitations of being hosted in wp.com...

@Ryan: read it ^^ I'd still say, you should've been our speaker hehe. Then again it might just be a case of me setting the wrong expectations... though the speaker should've informed us of the 'limitations of the talk' beforehand ¬_¬

@hazy: I should remember not to fail in informing people next year! hehe. Thank you for reading and getting something out of this babbling. Whether or not you want to set deadlines for yourself is all up to you! If you want to finish writing MOAR in a certain amount of time, I guess. Just make sure to do it out of love and fun! :)

@schneider: haha, I actually wondered if I should spell that "snobbloggers" :P Glad to see you in your own blogging rhythm then! :D

@ghostlightning: oh yeah how I could I forget the roots of that! I feel ashamed TT__TT

@Zeroblade: In the right time, right place, inspiration will come, my friend! :) For next year's wordcamp!!

Lots of inspiring stuff here in this post. Also, I read snobloggers as sno-bloggers. :P

I can relate with blogging becoming a chore, but I did discover for myself some methods to make it fun again. So no problems there~

Lol, no worries. Sounds like it was an interesting camp yet again. Maybe I'd be able to go again next year. ^^

I think maybe my expectations are a bit blurry to me at this time. Or maybe having no specific expectation or convention is good? It allows me to write about various stuff while keeping my enthusiasm to write about it intact... I'm not sure if what I said made sense. Lol. My blog is a hodgepodge of various things fangirlism, episode & manga summaries, sharing a bit of j-music, etc. I only write when I feel like writing so it doesn't end up feeling like a chore, but sometimes I fail in that department too. I agree with responsible blogging and I try my best to do so and be as accurate with info as I can be. I think bloggers owe it to themselves and their readers as well. Like what Mr. Arao said, "Because people (readers) deserve no less." I write what I know and I don't try to write like someone else, if not, I'd only be kidding myself, no? I'm also glad I haven't really experienced blogging burnout so far (hmm, maybe because I don't really blog that much?) xD) I have a ton of drafts though... Maybe I should try setting some kind of post deadline for myself sometime.

Anyway, to stop myself from waffling any more... You did a good job on this post! :)

All sorts of delicious informations :)

On Wordpress as the Ultimate CMS:
It's quite funny you mention this because I was talking to mellow bunny in the #melative freenode channel the other day about that. I have to disagree with Wordpress as the Ultimate CMS, mainly because it is not "meta" enough, or rather because it is a finite solution at the core; a system for posts and pages.

I'll be writing a little post and tracking back :)

Thanks for this info! The plugins look interesting, I will have to try some out. I'm not so sure about offloading all things to 3rd parties for performance, especially if you are self-hosted, but it might make sense for those on wordpress.com (due to limitations on free accounts).
