Synopsis: Michiko is a criminal who escaped from prison. Hana is a young girl who endures the days she spends with her abusive foster family. With Michiko coming for Hana, the two form an unlikely pair.
usagijen posted a twit on how A Little Princess should be like Michiko to Hachin — if someone slaps you, you should slap back. And so, while watching the show, I waited for Hana to fight back. Eventually, she got fed up with all the abuse and ridicule heaped upon her that she lashed out all her bottled feelings on her sister Maria. I couldn’t help but cheer for her.

Synopsis: In a world where robots outnumer humans, Casshern kills humanity’s hope, Luna, setting the world’s ruin into motion.
Casshern Sins is a revamp of the entire Casshern franchise, discarding the continuity of the original Neo-Human Casshern series from the 1970’s, where Casshern battled the evil robotic forces of Braiking Boss. In Casshern Sins, Casshern works for Braiking Boss and has killed Luna upon his orders. The consequence of this act is the Earth’s ruin (thus the “Sins” in the title).

Title: Natsume Yuujinchou (?????)
Scrumptious Meter: 4.5 (next best thing to slice bread~with a little extra sugar and spice on top)
Length: 13 episodes

Since xxxHOLiC and Mononoke, I have developed an interest towards anime that deals with traditional Japanese folklore, particularly those concerning youkai, mononoke and ayakashi. Thus, I have anticipated Natsume Yuujinchou, which tells of a boy named Natsume Takashi who has the ability to see spirits. He inherits The Book of Friends from his grandmother, Reiko, who, too, had that same ability. It contains the names of the spirits that Reiko has defeated. Now that Natsume has that book, he is pursued by spirits wanting to get hold of it and those who wish for their names to be returned.

You wouldn’t (usually) find me watching anything loli. Note that, I placed “usually” because I’d like to keep an open mind though, and who knows there might be some loli anime worth watching. Anyway, Kurenai wouldn’t be the kind of anime in my watch list. After all, the premise of a high school guy living with the seven year old girl he’s protecting sounds like loli to me, especially so, that it is anime. Stuff like that do happen in anime, afterall. “But Kurenai is not loli!” I hear someone protest. Right-o. But even the obaasan at the baths commented on Shinkurou being into girls “like that” and Tamaki telling Murasaki that Shinkurou has lolicon.

Yoshitoshi Abe is one of my favorite Japanese illustrators. He is famous for his work in Serial Experiments Lain, NieA_7, Haibane Renmei and Texhnolyze.
One thing that I like about his art is the degree of realism in it. Compared with most anime/manga art which are simplistic in portrayal, Yoshitoshi Abe’s art has a lot of detail. It takes you to worlds beyond ours!

This feature has returned, once again, to satisfy anyone’s traffic light fetish (if, indeed, such a thing exists).

Synopsis: Watanuki, without knowing it, buys a dream from Himawari and Doumeki.
I know this entry is already late. By now, those who are watching xxxHOLiC Kei have probably read gazillions of summaries for this episode from gazillions of anime blogs. So if a detailed summary no longer interests you, dear reader, you can skip the sordid details and go to the end of each post, where I will be writing my thoughts on each episode.

With the use of the tengu fan, Yuuko transports Watanuki and the Karasu-tengu to where the Zashiki-warashi is being held captive.
Watanuki and the others find themselves in front of an abandoned building reeking with malicious energy. Watanuki walks towards it. The Karasu-tengu warn him that the one who held the Zashiki-warashi isn’t someone that Watanuki could go up against. Watanuki says he thinks so too but Yuuko sent him so there must be something he can do.
