It took me five episodes to warm up to K-ON, unlike the hordes of people going “I LOVE YOU, K-ON!” “Mio <33333" (though now it’s more of “Azu-nyan~! <333") right from the start, like Mio-crazy Seleria over here. Started off unimpressed, not because of any KyoAni biases (I’ve never watched a moe~kyun~ KyoAni series, unless you count Full Metal Panic), but because I’m fairly new to this whole moemoe~kyun~! thing *le gasp*.

It’s only been a few months (barely 2 months) since the epic Darker than Black Rewatch Movement, and now THIS. Talk about some amazing coincidence. Could it be as issa-sa has said, that the Reappraisal Movement brought Darker than Black from the dead?! Well that’s what we’d like to think, but considering that rumors of this sequel have been circulating ever since that Bones Leakage… bummmer. Would’ve been a totally EFFIN’ coincidence if the rewatch happened without the rumors. But anyways.

There are poignant moments in Cross Game I feel like capturing in some way, in any way possible, such that I will NEVER EVAR forget them even for the years to come. Time is fleeting, and unless we do something to capture the momentous events in our lives (or even the mundane, taken for granted [...]

I think I spent more time than necessary figuring out just what rating I’d give Darker than Black. Having been fascinated with it from start to end, and having found the coherence and thematic focus of the series to be AMA~ZING!, on top of the brilliant storytelling (guess I can proudly say, “yes! I can see what you’re talking about, Owen/Hige/0rion&Guff/other DtB fans!”) and the excellent portrayal of the characters (Without doubt, Hei is <333. To my new spunky shiny sexy black laptop, I dub thee 'Hei'!) — each of whom finally found their purpose in life, the ‘truth’ they truly believe in, what they stand for, and their place in society, I felt compelled to give it a 10. Until I finally got to the end of the series, and started thinking whether I should be more “objective” in my rating.

I’m almost done watching Darker than Black, as part of this DtB watching/rewatching movement that Hitl– I mean omo’s– err rather, Owen spearheaded, which I kinda fell behind on but somehow managed to get back to again. And while I know there’s a lot left to be revealed in the last two episodes I’m about to watch, I don’t think that will ruin the experience for me. I found it fascinating right from the start, and I don’t think that will ever change.

It’s so easy to let loose and want to shout “OMG YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS!” when you watch an anime that’s so amazing, and you want other people to share in the joy of having discovered a GEM — like when I came across Cross Game and found it to be the BEST that Spring has to offer (I know there’s also Eden of the East, but I’m pretty jaded about it atm, will pick it up again when I’m ready to TAKE IT ALL IN); it’s also as easy to get disappointed when people can’t seem to relate with the OH JOY you’re feeling.

Lately I’ve been wondering, is Skip Beat really that awesome? Bloggers might not have given it much attention, but it’s certainly getting the spotlight elsewhere, be it in forums, chat rooms, or yahoo groups, with fans raving about it, praising it to the high heavens as though it’s a total Obra Maestra. But is it really? Is it not just another overrated series, probably the shoujo counterpart of long-running mainstream shounen series? For once, I decided to take off my rose-tinted glasses and look at Skip Beat from a totally unbiased point of view.

One thing people will find most noteworthy about Skip Beat is the goddess heroine Kyoko and her versatility as a character. Without doubt, Kyoko has got to be the most expressive character you’ll ever see in the manga/anime world, if the above screencaps don’t serve enough proof of that. Opinions regarding Skip Beat’s (and Kyoko’s) awesomeness or depth might differ from person to person (I know for a fact that my ability to relate with Skip Beat is far beyond normal), but this is one thing we can all agree with.

The end of Skip Beat, that is, and the above pic captures exactly how I feel right at this moment. I neglected watching Skip Beat a few months back, and now that I almost caught up… it’s nearing its end. NOooOOoOooo!!!! The Dark Moon is not over yet! And I want to see Ren’s awesome dad in full animated glory! And and… so much more!! I don’t want it to end yet TT____TT Where’s my season 2?? Where’s my goddamn rumored 41 eps?!
This is almost like how I felt when Ouran ended, but since my relationship with Skip Beat is far more personal, this one hurts even more.
