...as my dear kouhai arrives from his business trip to Japan, so does my Hana to Yume magazine with the SIZZLING HAWT Skip Beat Furoku!! *squeals in the corner* Consider this my obligatory "My Skip Beat Kokoro no Tamago is not dead yet!" post, as I am finally In The Zone to catch up with the ongoing anime, after getting stuck at episode 4 a few months ago orz. Pressures from blogging begone! I'd rather watch and love Skip Beat and not just follow it for the sake of blogging. Lazy excuse to not blog about Skip Beat regularly, but makes for a more enjoyable and worthwhile experience for me ^__^

…as my dear kouhai arrives from his Japan business trip, so does my Hana to Yume magazine with the SIZZLING HAWT Skip Beat Furoku!! *squeals in the corner* Consider this my obligatory “My Skip Beat Kokoro no Tamago is not dead yet!” post, as I am finally In The Zone to catch up with the ongoing anime, after getting stuck at episode 4 a few months ago orz. Pressures from blogging begone! I’d rather watch and love Skip Beat and not just follow it for the sake of blogging. Lazy excuse to not blog about Skip Beat regularly, but makes for a more enjoyable and worthwhile experience for me ^__^ I would go on a Skip Beat crusade if I can, far more than what I did to Toshokan Sensou before, because it’s that GOOOD. Great and Awesome, rather. But I fail, so all I can do is preach in this blog sporadically and nothing else! I’m not assuring you that you’ll love it, but do give it a try nonetheless. Those who are in it for the romance might find it a little disappointing, but those who want to watch something brimming with energy and make them feel as if they can RULE ZA WARUDO will most likely enjoy it.

Signing up for the Love Me Section!

This might seem like a pointless post, but for me it isn’t… this is a sign that my Fangirl Self is still alive as ever! White Album is bad for my fangirl health seriously, it fills me with rage rather than LOVE, totally DO NOT WANT T___T White Album is like the antithesis of Skip Beat, the very reason why I feel like dropping it and just go Skip Beat all the way! I do love discussing White Album and all, especially with the Great Commentators who have far more worthy things to say than I do, and from whom I learned a whole lot, but… I have to sort out my priorities, and for now, I vote it out. If anything, White Album made me realize that I can watch dramas in that vein ‘properly’ now — not too absorbed, able to keep a distance so as to not let the characters get into my nerves so much. It made me want to revisit KimiNozo, one of the few series I loathed and hated to the guts. But I digress. I’ll focus on Skip Beat and be filled with LOVE~!

Hopefully, I’ll be able to make a proper Skip Beat post… someday.

Lo and behold!

An idle mind is the devil's playground, they say, or the otaku devil's playground, in this case. One idle moment in the office was all it took for me to start searching for available Toshokan Sensou loot, find an online shop that sells them (hurray for Animate!), register (had to use my Chinese name because the shop is not gaijin-friendly), and with a few clicks, voila, order placed and set to be delivered to officemates who are currently in Japan for training! orz.

I’d have to admit, this is one sorry excuse for a Toshokan Sensou post. Then again, don’t we all love to see merchandise?! And besides, it’s always fun to showcase stuff like these, they serve as Badges of Fanaticism

Lo and behold!

One officemate recently came back from Japan and kindly brought the stuff for me, so after a few weeks of waiting, the Holy Loot was finally in my hands!

I supposedly had this item cancelled in my order, but then Animate was so slow that my stuff already got delivered even before they got to reply to my cancellation request! x_X Oh well, since it’s already here, might as well delight in it, woohoo! It comes with a pack of chamomile tea pack too <del>now all that’s left is a Doujou to complete this</del>.

Bookmarks!! There’s no better way to keep yourself reminded of ToshoSen each time you read a book than this.

I even got fooled into buying this business card case lolz. But look, it comes with the “business cards” of the ToshoSen cast!! I get to pretend to be one of the Library Task Force members too with the blank Library Task Force “business card” that comes with this. BUt hm, no love for Genda, it seems. The poor big guy.

And finally… the cute cellphone straps/fasteners/whatever you wanna call these accessories!!! =D

and that’s it! Till the next ToshoSen loot report! On my way to the province for All Saint’s Day now… ta!

Well well, it seems that Cospa has decided to <del>fool TS fans into buying</del> give us more TS goodies, some shirts and tote bag which basically scream "I LOVE TOSHOKAN SENSOU!!" When I heard about this from Yu Ominae of AnimeSuki <del>since the official TS site never mentioned anything about it</del>, I went "Holy Mackerel!" 8O, pleasantly shocked and surprised by this news. Obviously, the next thing I did was to find out where I can order this, despite it being a unisex shirt (aka not really a cute fashionable shirt). Preorder seems to have ended in other shops, but luckily, Amazon JP still have them in stock 8) And hurray for friends and officemates in Japan who can bring these stuff for me!! :D

Preorder seems to have ended in other shops, but luckily, Amazon JP still have them in stock And hurray for friends and officemates in Japan who can bring these stuff for me!!

I’d love to wear this shirt in public (particularly the moss green one), since it actually looks cool and not the flashy otaku kind, but then again these shirts don’t suit me… unless I can do some workaround and mix-and-match it with something else. Guys won’t have any problem wearing these shirts, it’s like these are actually made for them! Unfair! T__T

On the other hand, I’m still having second thoughts about buying this tote bag. I mean, all the cotton tote bags I have are free, and now this one costs like, 1500 yen?! I’ll be more inclined to buy this if it had the same design as the tote bag freebie for the TS DVD pre-order from Tsutaya, but right now this tote bag just looks meh (and that’s a good thing!) I might just change my mind if I see actual pics and see that it’s the sturdy kind of bag, which I doubt since this is well, a cotton tote bag

And, there are also these Shibasaki eyeglasses being sold in the market, so Shibasaki fans and wannabes can buy them or something In times like these, I’m thankful I’m not in Japan, or else I probably would’ve bought these glasses on impulse when I see them being sold in shops

That’s all for the current Toshokan Sensou goodies report! Raving fangurl bunny, now signing off!

Almost all my life Ive been so used to <strike>pirating</strike> watching fansubs that I rarely bother buying the original DVDs. I have a decent job, but I dont have enough monies to splurge an enormous amount of cash on these otaku goodies, especially DVDs. The only original DVDs I have in my collection are the first and final volume of La Corda d Oro (LOL), and Tokyo Marble Chocolate. My love for Toshokan Sensou outweighs these two animes by a mile, and I know for a fact that the Toshokan Sensou DVDs will be a worthy addition to my [small] collection, not simply because of the mini-short stories and other thingamabobs that will be included in each volume, but because of the wonderful anime itself.

But again, the real question is, should I splurge cash and pledge my loyalty as a Toshokan Sensou fangurl fanatic by buying these DVDs, or not? Such a tough question.

I’m facing a major DVD c-c-risis!

Almost all my life I’ve been so used to <strike>pirating</strike> watching fansubs that I rarely bother buying the original DVDs. I have a decent job, but I don’t have enough monies to splurge an enormous amount of cash on these otaku goodies, especially DVDs. The only original DVDs I have in my “collection” are the first and final volume of La Corda d’ Oro (LOL), and Tokyo Marble Chocolate.

I’m gonna have to do a bit of calculating to see if I’ll be able to buy these DVDs, considering that I’m also planning to get myself an EEEPC, DS Lite, and a new digicam sometime within the year, on top of some mangas I’m currently following (not that much, but still, an added expense). This shall call for a time of reflection and meditation, all for the sake of controlling my buying impulses.

While my decision to purchase the Toshokan Sensou DVDs is not yet certain, I’m already sure that I’ll be buying it from my favorite online shop HMV, if ever I decide to. This shop is like the next best thing to slice bread for people outside Japan who wants import stuff at affordable prices. They sell the goodies at its standard retail price, sometimes even cheaper than Amazon JP, and their shipping rate is really cheap, approximately 300-900 yen per item, depending on the number of items you have in one shipment. They ship it through EMS, and you get your package 2-3 days after it’s shipped. Coolness. The only limitation of this shop is its lack of available stock for the items they have on sale, so at times you’d have to wait 2-3 weeks before your items become available for shipping. But once they have the items in stock, you’re good to go~

Oh, and good news for you guys in Japan, aside from the goodies included in the first release Toshokan Sensou DVDs, you can also get other bonus giveaways from certain stores when you pre-order the DVDs:

animate – a storage holder of some sort for the novel.

messe-sanoh – Kanto Library Task Force 2nd Lieutenant(?) badge / pins, one for each volume.

Tsutaya – special Toshokan Sensou tote bag

Kinokuniya – Special Book cover (Kinokuniya branches around the globe will be giving this away too, but since we don’t have one here, woe is me T__T).

Chara-ani – Toshokan Sensou 2009 Calendar

Anibro Gamers – special bookmark

You lucky bastards in Japan, not only will you get gifts from participating in the Banner campaign, you also get to have these goodies! How more unfair can life be I want the calendar, the pins, the special book case, cover slip, and the bookmark, basically all of ‘em! Sigh. Oh wait, I can haz Toshokan Sensou book cover / cards from Chara-ani Now if I can have this delivered to my officemate’s hotel in Japan, that’d be real sweet.

peek a boo!

By the time this post is published, I'd have already gone for our company's Beach Party, and won't be back till Sunday afternoon. I remember mentioning to some people about my Oryzae plushie, and how it's going to become our Beach Party Mascot character. And well, I wasn't kidding when I said that.

See, this cute Oryzae is like the epitome of a happy summertime, with its sun shape and its radiant smile. So a couple my officemates and I suggested Oryzae to be our official mascot, and it was heartily approved :P What can I say, Oryzae is well loved <33 xD

Enough with the talk, and on with the pics!

Just like with any star, of course we’d need a few touch ups before the photo shoot~

The Actual Pictorial

My officemates and I went trigger happy as we sort-of cosplayed Oryzae for some Summer-y getup. The only thing that’s missing would be a matching summer outfit rofl.

A little out of place, but oh well. Oryzae gains a koala friend~!

You can just imagine how lax we are in the office, for us to be able to do this kind of photoshoot activity Well we did it after our work is done, so there’s completely nothing wrong with it~

Thanks to my dear teammates/buddies in the office who tagged along with this wacky idea xDD

Shiraishi, you lucky <strike>bastard</strike> star, you! That satisfied look on his face says it all, doesnt it?

Maybe not Shiraishi has been dating these primas, one after the other. Eventually, they found out and are gathered here now. Looking at him with such betrayed eyes, their main objective: to give Shiraishi paddles of whoop ass. The cat even pities you now, Shiraishi.

This is my friend’s collection of anime figures that he flaunts in the office. I gave him the Shiraishi figure as an omiyage (souvenir/gift) from my Japan trip. Good to know that Shiraishi is taken well-cared of. Too well, perhaps

I already have the keychains for Yoru, Kiseki, and Temari, bought it online and had it delivered to one of my officemates who went to Japan months ago

P.S. Hmm… I actually wonder if you appreciate this kind of nonsensical post. I don’t see any objectives behind this but… showing off more merchandise lol
