Just to keep you guys updated with what’s happening in the metablogging scene of Scrumptious, here are the bunch of experiments changes/updates made to the blog since my last announcement:

EDIT: I’m terribly sorry for this plugin rant, with which I disrespected the plugin author WebGeek in the process. Despite the seemingly negativity of this post, I just like to say that WP-SpamFree remains a great plugin. Unless you run into the same problem as I did, it works like a charm and really lives up to its name.

So if you guys haven’t noticed the silly tweakings I’ve been doing with the sidebar and the ‘Asides’ section in the front page, I actually managed to assimilate my MAL blog and twitter blubs into it. I syndicated my posts from these two sites, so they became part of my posts now (hence you also see them in the archives). I think I’m gonna have to exclude these posts from the archives / recent posts list, they don’t seem to belong there >.< If this doesn’t work out the way I want, then I’ll just opt to aggregating my feeds for the ‘asides’, MAL blog, and twitter.

Paranoid as the chefs are, we never got to upgrade our blog to WP 2.3. We talked about some upgrade plans months back, and even spent quite a deal looking for a new spunky theme for our blog, on top of checking plugin compatibility issues. I fell in love with The Morning After theme, but due to the busy life of the chefs that time, on top of uncertainties if the upgrade will go well and an advice from Maestro not to upgrade to 2.3 yet, no blog upgrade(s) happened, not even a banner change!

So it seems that some of the great anime blogging sempais are making their comeback, thanks to the almighty OS who woke them from their slumber. While those who have long been in the blogging scene and witnessed their legacy are going “Natsukashii~“, we n00bs could simply bow down in awe of them m(_ _)m. And the great(est) thing about this is that, 3 of these sempais are girls (Newt, and *ahem* Ate Ten and Ate Reika? :P). Hurray for more females in the blogosphere! ;___;
Also, with the recent rise of itsubun into this sausage-fest blogosphere comes this plan of female blog-o-domination! Ok, it’s not really as diabolical as it sounds. We’re basically planning to have an all-girls round-robin, where we vote or choose for a particular topic or issue we want to discuss, everyone in the gang (or the interested members, at least) writes a post on it, linkwhore each other, and the result is this EPIC girl-power-filled discussion. We have several potential topics in mind atm, but I’m not disclosing them here or it’ll ruin the surprise factor

After quite some server downtime yesterday, the blog is finally up! I hope you guys didn’t suffer from some heart attack, seizures or whatnot when you thought our blog is dead or something D: So to those who read my post on Kure-nai before the blog went down, now’s your time to comment! So please come back!! D:

There’s only 1 day left before the Anime Blog Awards Nomination Phase ends, so I’m not sure if this post will still be of any use, but anyways. Anyone who has an anime blog who’s currently reading this, please get your nominations in by April 22, which is coincidentally, Earth Day (although I wouldn’t have known about this if it weren’t for that Starbucks promo XD).
The top 5 nominees in each category will be selected for the next phase, the actual voting, which will run from April 25-June 1.
In behalf of my fellow chefs who are still hibernating at this wonderful Springtime, I’d like to once again thank everyone who nominated us! We may not have a chance to become part of the top 5 nominees, but one nomination is enough to touch the heart of this little bunny *bow*
So anyways, I finished placing my nominations (partly thanks to the power of copy pastah lol), and to spare me the agony of having to write about my selections for each category, I’m just going to highlight one which I consider to be the most personal of all, The Most Influential Blog Category.

Yes, dear readers, it’s been a year since the [official] birth of Scrumptious, which is coincidentally, a few days away from the blog birthday of my cute little otouto Totali and the nazi dictator Owen. So yeah, that means we share the same blog signs too.
And just to share with you guys the lengthy history of our little blog…

With the outpour of the new Spring animes, I’ve been thinking a lot about what blogging style I should really adopt and stick to. I had already gone weary of making summary posts, not because of the elitist view that editorials and other writing styles are superior to episode summaries, but rather because it’s not my niche. I suck at summarizing, and I’m not being modest at that. The amount of time I spend on writing these is just ridiculous, ranging from 3-5 hours or more, depending on the anime. And the thing I hate most about this is that much of my time is wasted thinking about how to describe the scenes. How more lame could that be.
More often than not, I’m not even satisfied with the summary I churn out. Again, because I suck. (I’m not soliciting any sympathies here; I’m just stating mere facts) So why bother spending hours on something whose results are far from what you’d be proud of, when you can capitalize on your strengths instead?
These thoughts already came to me a few months back, during Fall 2007, hence the change in my blogging style, particularly for KimiKiss and Shugo Chara, though I dropped the latter a few months after. The same goes for True Tears, whose bandwagon I joined halfway through the show, with the sudden spark of writing motivation I had. What I liked most about blogging KimiKiss and True Tears is how the shows itself compelled me to write. And I believe that’s the tried-and-true Way of BloggingTM.

Hear ye, hear ye~ A message from the Great Maestro:
AnimeBlogger.net has always been supportive of new writers all over the world to establish their blog for free. As we continue to expand and include new bloggers to the anime blogosphere, we have reached a point where advertising dollars are not enough to pay for the [...]
