Ok, so how do we start. I guess I’ll just focus on recent otome games news with these digest posts since that’s actually my aim. I might be mentioning about interesting stuff released in the past, like the PS2 game Dear My Sun, the otome counterpart of Princess Maker where you get to raise one of two bishie twins, and Last Escort, the [serious] host club game for girls. Ok enough of that first and let’s get onto the actual meat of this post!

Anyone still remember Fushigi Yuugi? The shoujo craze more than a decade back, loaded with a heap of bishounens, most of whom unfortunately fall head over heels for the whiny heroine Miaka. Well FY is back, bringing with it a chance to fulfill the very fangirl’s wish of the Suzaku no Miko! Having a PS2 is a requirement however, since the upcoming FY game is slated to be released on this console, this coming May 29, 2008.

You’ll be playing as Madoka Ootori, the “Miaka” in this game, interact with the characters, like any visual novel / renai adventure otome games. She reminds me of Alice from Alice 19th.

Shugo Chara DS Game

As I am still in the process of finishing my thoughts and babbling on KimiKiss episode 14 (gawd I think too much x__x), I’m gonna take a short break and plug about this COOL and SPICY news first.

Given the popularity of Shugo Chara in Japan (and in all other countries across the globe, for that matter), it is of no surprise that we’ll finally be seeing a Shugo Chara game for the DS, this coming March 13, 2008. I’ve already mentioned about this possibility, way back November, and I think my “wish” was more or less, fulfilled. Quoting what I said, in my Shugo Chara Hype post:

“Aside from these novelty items, I can already see a Shugo Chara console game coming out sometime soon from Konami, hopefully an RPG-ish otome game =P”

Gone were the days when I simply ignored news about Wii games. So here I am, excited about the upcoming Nodame Cantabile game coming out for the Wii on December 27! Yeah I know, I’m late for the news. But hey, I just got my Wii last last week! :p

At first I thought the game was simply about conducting, and I can already imagine how it’s going to be done with the Wii-mote. To my surprise, you can also get to “play” all the other instruments in the orchestra: piano, oboe, timpani, clarinet, violin, flute, and cello! It’ll require some imagination, as you only have the wii-mote and the nunchuck to fiddle the instruments with, and I think you’ll be mistaken as a crazy person once other people see you so engrossed with playing the “violin” for example It’s gonna be so much fun playing this with a bunch of other Wii-mates, where you’ll all be immersed into the world of the orchestra~

Announcing two upcoming games for the coming Autumn Season (what a long wait!). First off is this Kyou Kara Maou game for PS2 entitled “Shin Maou Kuni Holiday” which will now be the 2nd KKM game for PS2 to date, and the Ookiku Furikabutte game for Nintendo DS! There are no set dates for these games yet, but it’s still great to know that we have something to look out for~ Gonna be on the lookout for the updates on this :3

As expected from an anime like KKM, this is going to be a fantasy adventure game with an original story (a fun wacky story from what I can see), and will most likely be a simulation / adventure game just like the previous one. The great thing about this new Kyou Kara Maou Holiday game is that, it’s full-voiced!! The seiyuu cast will most likely be the same as the anime’s, and so fans will certainly be delighted to hear all the KKM characters brought to life once again, in this game Based from that picture I got from the official site, it looks like we’ll see the characters in SD, and I certainly hope we’ll see them in that form! ^-^
