Toshokan Sensou Author Hiro Arikawa’s “Top Runner” Interview

After more than a month, I finally caught a glimpse of ToshoSen author Hiro Arikawas interview in NHKs Top Runner (this is actually the 3rd rerun already, the 1st and 2nd of which was way back September), thanks to the power of live Japanese TV streaming! Rawr! But one thing I realized after watching this is that my listening skill is still sucky, in the Im still likely to fail the JLPT1 listening section sense. I dont think I even got 50% of what they said >.> But since no one has bothered ripping this particular Top Runner episode (and I dont think Ive seen a detailed report about it in Japanese blogs either), Im pretty much left with no choice but to rely on the measly notes I gathered as I was watching T__T;

In Lieu of the Fall Preview #3: Skip Beat Seiyuu Cast (and Director) Interview

I somewhat had the motivation to translate this fun little interview of the Seiyuu cast (and later on, director Sayama herself), though I got tired not long after and just summarized some of the parts orz. I even asked help from my sensei for this because I fail a lot, even he said this is complicated o.O I know this translation is not really accurate, but alas, I dont think anyone else has bothered translating this, so youve got no choice haha. If anyone of you knows if theres a Chinese translation available for this, do tell thatll help enlighten me.

Thoughts on Katsuyuki Konishi Being Casted as Skip Beat’s Ren

Looks like this news came out real early, like way back 5 or so days ago. Katsuyuki Konishi is casted as Ren! I know people are having mixed feelings over this news, and those who already had this image of Ren (with their ideal seiyuu to boot) are especially disappointed.

I’d like to think that I’m a bit on the “yay!” side with this one. I was trying to recall Katsuyuki Konishi’s voice as Soubi (Loveless), Ousaki-sempai (La Corda d’ Oro), etc., and it initially didn’t quite fit the supposedly ‘image’ I had of Ren. But then I read the manga, and started imagining how it would seem like with Katsuyuki Konishi’s voice, and I actually found it fitting for his snarky, somewhat egotistic yet gentle character.
