Rationalizing the Retarded

I never thought the time would come when, after watching a totally retarded show, I’d actually wholeheartedly (and proudly) say, “I enjoyed it, and never felt it was a waste of time”, despite how it racked my brains for being so brainlessly entertaining, and how it made me go *facepalm* and go WTF every so often. I blame my no-fun Baka Anikis, who, after being Professionals, could no longer stand watching something illogical, retarded, unintelligent, or what have you. Or they can’t bring themselves to accept they actually enjoyed watching “that kind of stuff”, despite laughing throughout, probably they’re tsuntsun way of saying “I-i-it’s not like I enjoyed it or a-a-anything, I just found it s-silly and s-s-stupid, s’all!” Being surrounded by these NO FUN people would obviously make you similarly no-fun, or prevent you from showing your HONTOU NO JIBUN since you can’t stand being ridiculed by your beloved oniichan~ for watching something they abhor or something. But ahh, enough s-s-silly dorama!

A Sweet Valentine Tokyo Marble Chocolate Treat: Let’s Get Personal — The Girl Side

Prepare for cheesiness and emoness!

Weeks after I watched Tokyo Marble Chocolate, I still wondered why I loved it so much. Despite having said my thoughts on the OAV in my review, I can’t help but think there’s got to be a deeper reason why it pierced through the depths of my heart. I wasn’t able to give this much thought, until Owen brought about the idea of a Personal TMC post for the ABC Valentine’s special, as we reflect on the show and how it relates to our personal lives.

It didn’t take me long to find out the answer to this from my TMC-loving heart. Let’s just say I was able to relate to both Yuudai and Chizuru, the stars of the show. Surprising as it may seem, I found myself being in both ends of the spectrum, though not in a romantic relationship setting. I’m a romance n00b like Eriko after all, though not as eccentric and lacking in common sense.

Recipe for a Perfect Tokyo Marble Chocolate Experience

Relax and unwind, do not set any expectations. Allow yourself to be immersed into the show, and appreciate the love it brings~
Watch the guy part first, which I felt to have better transition despite the missing girl’s story part in between. And, I think it’d be better for you to see the girl as [...]

Anime Review: Tokyo Marble Chocolate, Sweet Entanglement of Fate and Love

Title: Tokyo Marble Chocolate (????????????)
Scrumptious Meter: 4.0 (a heartful delight, leaving you all warm and fuzzy~) [-1 due to something lacking in the development of Chizuru x Yuudai relationship]
Length: 2 OAV episodes, ~28 minutes each

So the fanboys have spoken, now it’s time for a rabid fangirl to speak for this show =D

This is gonna be EPIC, so I hope I won’t bore you to tears, and convince you to watch this show instead. Please bear with me and my review, as this is the first time I actually did something like this. The show just compelled me to, and put the words into my mouth. =3

There are times when all it takes to save a relationship and get it back on track, is one little mishap, an accidental mix-up, which turns out to be nothing else but a blessing in disguise. With fates entwined, the result is the enchanting romance tale of Tokyo Marble Chocolate, a 2-part OAV by Production I.G., released last December.
