The Missing Library War (Toshokan Sensou) Files #2

So much for procrastination… here’s this long overdue deep frying!

No wonder I thought my deep frying for episode 1 turned out too short, I forgot to mention some more stuff regarding the Doujou x Iku lobby scene! >_< It’s not all that much but it would’ve made the scene more dramatic =D

The Lobby Scene: Iku’s Monologue

Going back to the lobby scene, there should’ve been this Iku monologue which showed us how she came to terms with what Komaki and Doujou was trying to tell her before, Komaki with his thought-provoking question, “Are track-and-field and P.T. similar?” (which Iku obviously didn’t get), and Doujou’s scolding, “If you’re always going to think of this [lightly] like some sports, then you better quit!”

Library War Novel Collection, Complete At Last!

It took me four months to get this completed. (oh and sorry for the crappy cellphone cam pic… I still haven’t bought a replacement for my old [stolen] one =.=; )

As you probably know by now, I bought the actual copies of the Library War novels months before the anime started airing and gawd are they thick and such a pain in the ass to read! That was way back January, almost at the same time I made this short random blurb on the upcoming Spring shows, and well, I only got my copy of the last two volumes just this week. Surprising huh.

The Missing Library War Files #1

The uber fast monster speed of the anime somewhat forced me to go and Deep Fry Toshokan Sensou like I did with Kaze no Stigma. The Toshokan Sensou anime might be realll good at this point, but I do think it’s even better if you know the missing antics and tidbits in between. So yeah, hopefully I’ll be able to fill in those stuff for you guys!

And, I was supposedly taking down notes on the stuff omitted in episodes 1-2 of Toshokan Sensou, detail by detail, till episode 3 comes down like a BOMB and as I check what it covered in the novel, I see that it skipped 100+ pages! Now before I struggle over whether to skip reading some parts too, I shall go and talk about the differences I’ve seen in episode 1 first.

All Hail The Power of Library War! Cynics Move Aside, Please

So Library War makes its premiere, and needless to say, I loved it!! *____*

As expected from Production I.G. (who Seleria and I fondly call PIG), the animation is superb, almost movie-like, I’d say. I loved the thick outline style they used on the characters, as some bloggers have also pointed out. And both the OP and ED songs are <3333 Hitomi Takahashi’s voice sounds so much like YUI I would not have been able to tell the difference if I didn’t know she was singing the OP beforehand o_O. And it goes without saying that Baseball Bear is <333

Despite the rather serious Library vs Media Improvement Brigade elements of the show, the mix of the action and humor, as well as the potential romance tidbit seemed all natural and not forced. Expect more action in the later episodes of the show, while still maintaining its touch of humor and romance (aka overall entertainment value). The prince-charming aspects of the show make it seem as if we’re watching a fairy-tale of some sort xD

The pacing was also great, though I was a bit sad that they cut short some of the comedic parts, like the Judo sparring scene and some bits and pieces of dialogues, but it was understandable that they can only do so much in the span of ~23 minutes. I’m not so sure if I can have the time and leisure to make deep frying posts this time around, but we’ll see~

If my previous pimpings were not enough to convince you to watch this, I sure hope this PV does +___+ Pure P.I.G. Awesomeness~!!! The SD-ish distorted faces are really cute xD And both the OP and ED song are <3333

Inside Information on Toshokan Sensou: A ‘Deep Frying’ Prequel Part 1

GAR Women FTW! >3

I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE TOSHOKAN SENSOU ANIME!!!! RAWR!

Ok, just thought I had to let that out xD

I know we still haven’t cooked up our Spring 2008 Menu post, but I wanted to pimp Toshokan Sensou SO BAD I detracted from doing that and dedicated a post for this series instead. Not much information around this title’s novel and mangas can be found on the net so far, and so I decided to provide a sneak preview for this show as early as now. I’ve already done this for Kurenai, and Junjou Romantica, so why not do this for my most anticipated anime of the season, right? =3

Just for the record, I’m reading the novel, and both the manga versions at the moment, and I’m LOVING it! It’s a great mix of action, romance, and comedy, which gives me some FMP vibes too, sans the mecha. With this, allow me to guide you into the world of Toshokan Sensou, as I reveal some inside information on this upcoming anime, and hopefully, make you guys see that this is a series that fanboys and fangirls alike will love ;)

Fastforward to Spring 2008 With The Bunny Who Leapt Through Time

Last season, I initially planned to cook-up a comprehensive first impressions post on the fall animes I watched, but before I even got a glimpse of most of them, I already found myself joining the bandwagon of blogging Shugo Chara, KimiKiss, My Condolences Ninomiya-kun, and Suteki Tantei Labyrinth. In the end, my originally intended post never materialized. I dropped one show after another as time went by, leaving only KimiKiss (and the Shugo Chara manga, if that counts) in my current blogging schedule. I lost the passion and drive to blog Saiunkoku and Emily along the way as well, and up until now I’m still trying to rekindle that flame =__=

This time around, I decided to take it slow, to delight in what the Winter ‘08 animes has to offer, before deciding on which shows to blog. Despite how several shows piqued my interest, namely True Tears, Persona, Porfy no Nagai Tabi, Shigofumi, Spice and Wolf, Hatenkou Yuugi, Hakaba Kitarou and KimiAru, I can’t seem to bring myself to write about these shows. These animes struck a chord with me, but somehow, it wasn’t enough inspiration for a write-up (the KimiAru deep frying I did isn’t really a proper write-up, but just a random “lol”).

Winter’s Block is making me feel like a sad girl in the snow. It’s not you, winter animes, it’s me.

I’ve never been a good writer. If there’s one thing that blogging has really taught me, it’s that I should not have taken reading [English books] and writing for granted, during the “formative years” of my life. Sorry, mom, I now realize how foolish I am for not listening to your advice. But that’s not the point. The thing is, with the lack of ability to articulately express myself, especially for shows I can’t [fully] get into, I am not able to churn out a “worthwhile” post. With this, I come to the conclusion that the problem lies with me and my current Winter’s Block. The most plausible and convenient reason I can think of behind this phenomenon is that, I left my heart somewhere else, in the season of Spring~ yes that’s right. Deliberately or not, I found myself not wanting to become attached to the Winter shows, in light of what is to come in the next season. I feel like singing, “O Come All Ye Spring 2008 Animes” now, actually :P

My Newtype magazines just made this worse, as it allowed me to do some sort of “time leap”, and I became excited for what Spring ‘08 has to offer instead. I guess this also explains why I wasn’t able to cook up a Winter 2008 Anime “Menu” / Season Preview? Though I think I owe much of that to laziness, procrastination, and loneliness (bunnies need company to be able to GIVE IT ALL THEY’VE GOT, after all) :P
Having known the roots of my Winter’s Block, I obviously cannot go about proclaiming how the Winter season of animes suck. I’ve already lost the “right” to proclaim that with what I’ve mentioned thus far. If you’re looking for a guide for the Winter season of shows, I’m sorry to say that I cannot be a hermit bunny at this state of hibernation. And besides, there are other blogs out there which are more qualified for that, IMO. So instead of forcing myself to post about the current shows [halfheartedly], I’ll just stick to what I’ve already been doing and continue to look at what lies ahead, while not losing focus of the present (aka watching Winter shows, and blogging what I’m supposed to). Allow me then to guide you into the world of Spring! Wai~ :D So yeah, all this lengthy introduction is just to tell you guys, that I’ll be providing “Snapshots of Spring 2008″ in the coming months, as I scan pages from Newtype / Animedia, for the greater good. ^^;;;

Enjoy the pics~! Let’s all be happy and look forward to Spring! =3
